It depends on your mother's tech level and age, but the iPad has an awful lot to offer for people who like/need a very simple experience and aren't bothered about portability. For those with weak eyesight the large screen also allows an impressive degree of zooming before you lose functionality.
anyone tried adding adding a second google account for more £15 vouchers?
Ordered from Tesco this morning, in stock and I can pick up from store. £179 for the 16gb, nice.
Certainly you can unpack and inspect but after using it, loading data etc it is a grey area (their terms are specific on this but I don't know what the actual legal DSR position is).Should get mine today. RM say its at my local depot, Blackheath.
I am right in saying when I open it I have 7 days to check and I can return if necessary under DSR.. I ordered from the big purple retailer.
Can you use the 3G world wide, off to Turkey on holiday ?
An Apple 7-8" won't be £200. It's very likely be £300.
Tether it to your phone.
Form factor is interesting. I thought it felt quite small last night. Having picked up my GS2 this morning though I have had a quick rethink.
The 7 is immensely portable. For me it is the right size for books, internet, home hi-fi remote control and gaming. It falls down on movie streaming because the film on fills half the screen.
I really enjoyed fiddling with it last night (after stoke1863 sorted me out with BSplayer). Jelly bean really excelled at web browsing (so much so that I am gutted when I have to switch browsers for flash). Little things like enlarging areas with multiple links so fat fingers don't spam the wrong link really help. For once an android web browser can deal with typing in these forums without me typing off screen or being unable to move the cursor!
There are foibles. Mine creaks and crackles (play store order) and has a mild case of the screen issue. There is some weird slowdown every now and again in chrome and when newly downloaded apps are placed on the home screen which jars you out of the super slick experience; no flash is beyond dumb then again this is half the price of the tablets I was looking at and comes with the Google experience which absolutely win me over .
Coming from a Touchpad with CM9 I am satisfied this was the right choice. I would give this to the other half and buy a nexus 10 in a heartbeat too.
Just ordered from Tesco, need to cancel my google order now
LOL I'm sure that instruction will be efficiently and swiftly carried out after a short and sweet phone call LOL

In short you can't. The only thing you can do is refuse delivery.
Well I've removed my debit card as it hasn't been charged yet and sent an email, will attempt to call tonight and if all else fails I'll just refuse delivery.
Hi, could I ask how you managed to get it down to that price? The cheapest I would be able to get it for at Tesco Direct is £189.00.
Twenty four hours on and nothing back from GP confirming cancelation.
