Reported: 10 Killed in US Batman Premiere

Utter madness. This has really disturbed me. You think your safe and having a nice time watching a great film at the cinema, next thing a madman walks in and kills indiscriminately.

What a nutter(s)

Got to be some serious **** to be that much of a mindless ass hole..

Have to here this guys motives.

Since we don't yet know the reason for the spree it's impossible to say what would or wouldn't have stopped him.

I can say for one thing for sure though - banning guns certainly wouldn't make things any worse...

Putting around (from first google hit, maybe entirely not accurate but makes a point) a million people out of jobs in the USA isn't a good idea. Upping unemployment by half a percent wouldn't help the american economy, and generally speaking less jobs, more unemployed, the worse crime gets(this wasn't done in the process of a crime but many(maybe most?) shootings are).

THere are something like 90million gun owners in America..... 20-40k gun deaths a year. in 2004 of 30k gun deaths 56% were suicides, 40% were homicides. It's an easier option to kill someone, not the only option, you wouldn't prevent almost any suicide deaths, you wouldn't prevent most of the homicides, you prevent knife crime and jumpers, but not much else.

This guy is talking about explosives, imagine if he couldn't get his hands on a gun, so instead built a bomb and took out the whole theatre instead?

Gun crime in the USA is here to say, there are 100's of millions of guns in america already, gun control laws wouldn't remove those guns, so its entirely worthless trying to do so now. America was born as a frontier where people used guns to protect their own and protect their land, England has been basically established for a long time donkeys years before guns were invented so we never started off with everyone having guns.

So yeah, there is an argument that things would get worse if you banned guns, there is little reason at all to think things would get better. People just need to accept america "grew up" completely differently and they always had guns around, which meant it was never worthwhile to ban guns and still isn't.

As with any industry gun makers want to make better guns, uzi's and whatever else shouldn't ever have been sold in the US, but again its far too late to take that decision back.

It's a pointless argument, in a perfect world guns wouldn't have been invented, and america wouldn't have used them to establish, well, america, barring the ability to time travel, people bringing up the age old argument of banning guns won't do a damn thing.

People do horrific things, if guns are available, they'll use guns, if knifes, that's what they'll use, if chemicals, baseball bats, home made bombs, cars, potato guns, swords, piano's are what's available to them, they'll use one of those, that is how it works.

So wait, Batman, a fictional super hero, revolves around a story whereby people get shot dead in a cinema?

Come on pull your head out of your arse. Just because something is shown in the media, and glamorized, doesn't mean that its to blame.

I don't see irony at all, just tragedy

I'm not saying Batman as a character is to blame i'm just saying we live in an age where this type of behaviour is considered 'entertainment' and people enjoy watching it.

The people in the cinema hearing bullets whizzing past must have been thinking "Christ, this 3D is amazing!".

No people enjoy watching a movie with actors and special effects. People do not enjoy watching real people getting killed mindlessly by a mad man.

i'm going to burn in hell for laughing at that.

still sad sad day and proof that there is many many loons in the world

Are purposely ignoring what he is saying?

...because that's just rude.

Are you doing anything other than trolling the thread?

Didn't think so...

Fortunately most people can grasp the difference between fantasy/reality and fact/fiction. Only very twisted people enjoy watching real horror. Using the industry as a scapegoat for this sort of thing is very stupid.
