Amusing Parking Dispute

God knows what this thing is.

Whoops - definately a she - CCTV footage showing her putting the notice on my car

Did the owners of the shop complain to the Council, then? Sounds like you best follow it up with them.

Yes, but they lied to the council and reported it as blocking their driveway.

Once council were informed it was a shop we were blocking which wasn't likely to move anytime soon, they called the tow truck away :)

I got a note put on my car, as did one of my colleagues, telling me not to park my car outside 'various houses down this street and causing an obstruction', and that they've been speaking to a great big long list of people about it (local parking authority, highways agency, etc etc).

It's a normal street, close to the town centre, with no lines, no restrictions, no permits... they can jog on. They said in this snotty note 'we appreciate that you don't want to park in a car park and pay for parking but that's your problem not ours'.

Well... apparently it is your problem. They just glare at me now when I park. If you don't want strangers parking outside your house, don't live a quarter of a mile from the town centre! People park outside my house when I'm at work because I live close to a sixth form college, I don't chuck a fit over that.

Some people don't have a choice ?
We have this problem in the street I live in. very very tight for parking and often we come home to find no parking space anywhere.

If I arrive home at 17:30 I WILL get a space, if I come home at 18:15 it is a 50:50 chance.
What the hell am I suppose to do if I can't park on my own street which is a side street on a main road with no parking ?

On a side note if you are just parking during the day and going again before everyone gets home then fair enough. but some people take the p*** with it

I have been on both sides of this one... the answer is that if you want a property with a surefire parking space get one with a drive or with permit parking, otherwise its just tough luck.

I park on side streets during the day to go into town and had a few people grumble at me saying its " a private street so dont park here!" erm.... no its not a its a public road with no parking restrictions so im sorry mate but suck it up.

You're not entitled to a space on a public road, even if it's the one you live on.
