Me too. Can any team field a better front two than RvP/Rooney?!
I think it's quite unusual to see such an announcement on the website from Sir Alex himself. I think we're pretty serious.
If Man City badly want him and it comes down to money though, they'll get him I think.

God knows what's going on with our transfers this season! Question for Arsenal fans: If you were offered something like 10mill + Berbatov would you go for it?
Dunno how I feel about the potential signing of Van Persie. Clearly he's an outstanding player, easily on the same level as Rooney and way ahead of the rest of our strikers, so in that area he can't do anything but improve us.

Oscar said he has passed a medical at Chelsea but has not yet signed a contract and will make his final decision after the Olympics.
Fingers crossed.![]()
I've never heard of a player having a medical but not yet signing the contract. I'd assume he has actually signed but can't announce it until after the Olympics as Chelsea always want them to do interviews and photo shoots all day.
That's the only way it goes.
You think clubs offer contracts, see them signed, and only then put them through their paces?
Ba had a medical at Stoke did he not? And he didn't sign for them.
He failed it, in the sense that Stoke deemed what they found to be too risky. There's basically no 'pass mark', per se... it's just what clubs are willing to accept. At the far end of the scale, there are thresholds at which insurance makes a signing a no-go, as they wouldn't be covered for whichever pre-existing condition rears its head (think Jimmy Bullard - iirc, Hull weren't covered against him getting a knee injury, as he had bad knee problems... he then got a serious knee injury in his first game... oops).
Sir Alex Ferguson said:"We do have an issue in central midfield, there's no doubt about that, because getting a Scholes or a Carrick is very difficult these days," said Ferguson.
"We have the boy Nick Powell coming through, but he's young and although he's a very good talent he'll eventually be a midfield player.
