Off to Thailand for 3 weeks... share your tips and advice please!

Well, i'm going with two mates who have already been to Asis a few times, so sightseeing isn't as viable as city hopping and partying. I can do the sightseeing another time I guess.

Anyway, just went to get my Hep A, B and MMRshots, as well as my tetanus as I can't remember the last time I had it. Set me back a ridiculous £160... that's Switzerland for you.

Sure, if you want to avoid happy ending/seedy places then avoid them. But a straight up legit massage joint was a bi-weekly thing for me, at least!

Couple of quid for an hour of Thai massage and you'll never feel as good after compared to anything else as cheap!

For reference - Soapys are not....'legit' :D

Thai Oil, Foot or Regular Thai massages are the bomb.

Im planning on getting a massage almost every day I can, I love them so much and where I live they cost around £60 an hour!

I have had ZERO massages back in the UK, I cannot stomach paying £60 for an hour when that buys me 15-20 hours in Thailand :(

My first ever massage in Thailand was at a Blind operated place. They use talking clocks to keep track of time and it cost me a quid fifty for an hour. They know the denomination of notes by size! :D

Can you find "normal" massage places pretty much everywhere then?
 
Aw these sort of threads make me very nostalgic. I lived in Thailand for 13 months a couple of years ago and it's really a great place with something for everyone, whether your thing is partying on a beach under the full moon (albeit with a load of europeans), exploring empty roads winding through mountains bathed in clouds a motorbike, or riding an elephant through the jungle and then pampered at a massage spa.

Just have some common sense, read a guidebook, and:
- Don't start any fights
- Don't drink and drive
- Be aware that the driving attitudes are aggressive and the biggest vehicle has right of way on the road
- Don't tease elephants with food or touch them if you are told not to
- Smile!

Yes. Many.

Plenty of Swedish in Thailand, LOOOOOOOOOOOADS of Aussies. I think I met someone from pretty much every part of Europe. Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France..the lot!
 
i hated the parts of thailand filled with backpackers/sex tourists...lovely country but i try my best to avoid white people there.
 
Watch out for the girls with penises unless that's what you're after then it's a case of watching out for the girls with penises.
