Virus? My computer was locked apprently by West Yorkshire Police! Pic inlcuded

That's superb (in a bad way). Some people may fall for it. So obviously fake to most on here though.

It's kinda obvious though. If you go looking at child porn, and get caught, the police will be busting your back door in (in more ways than one) and dragging you away. They wont charge you a £100 fine and leave you to it.

I know we on this forum wouldn't fall for it but if someone like my mum saw it she would have a mini fit.

She'd probably cancel her cards and all sorts.

Roger that.

Won't be long before things like this should be taught in schools along with how to manage your money (which, personally, the latter should be anyway).

I was on youtube just casually listening to some music and a massage appeared. I couldnt get it off my screen, tried crtl + alt + delete and still nothing. Turned my computer off and on again and the massage has appeared so im guessing it was a virus or something? I dont even download or anything, just use facebook really lol. Should I be worried?

Too much gay porn! Get AVG or Avast (both free) and get Advanced Syste Care or something aswell.

Weirdest virus message ever, all I would do is boot using a pendrive install such as puppy linux then backup everything you need onto another memory stick or network drive.
Then just format, and reinstall.

faster to jsut remove the virus ... safmode, combofix.exe reboot safe mode malwarebytes reboot

I'm using Avast, its a bit annoying though.

Its far too over protective, it keeps terminating GAMES for example.

Also I have to endure "Avast Virus Database has been Updated" said in a robotic american female voice on every startup (and occasionally at random intervals).

I thought AVG was rubbish these days?

It is?

Saying that, context needs to be confirmed to state something like this. At work a Symantec Endpoint machine was infected by the same virus as Op's but the user of the machine specifically needed IE7 for various reasons and managed to click a website link that ran exploitable code.

Anyway, I don't deal with spending time cleaning machines, if users want old software then they get the format /c treatment.

Going back to earlier, if AVG wasn't updated often then yeah, it might have passed through unnoticed.
