BC2 held me for over 600 hours where as BF3 has been a fraction of that (still 100+). I much preferred the atmosphere, gun play and intensity of BC2. I had soo many fun times. Unfortunately I play neither now which is dissappointing :( Are there many BC2 servers still around?

I did initially switch to BF3 when it came out and played it for a few months, and a couple of hundred hours, but after a while I just lost sight of the game itself and was just trying to get all the medals and ribbons and stuff.

Now back with BC2 and find it much more enjoyable and fun than BF3 ever was. It does help that a few of the old BC2 SQDM buddies still play.

Prefer BF3 if im honest, I have all the features of battlelog should i want them. Premium also gives me the benefit of more weapons and stupid, fast paced fun in the form of close quarters maps - saves me playing COD.

Did enjoy bad company 2 though, especially the snowy maps :D they were fun.

Since reading this thread it's actually tempted me to give BC2 another go, I'm sick to death of BF3 just felt like it was an ultimate rape rounds consistently. If you haven't got upgrades you don't near stand the slightest of chance, BF2 was the days of where the game was best.

i seriously thought i prerfered BF:BC2 until i went back to play it after playing a lot of bf3. it make the game look 20 years old.

i think i defiantly had a more enjoyable time whilst playing BF:BC2 but i dont think i could go back.

BC2 definitely.

I wanted to like BF3, I really did.

In theory it's got loads of stuff I want from a FPS game. It's deeper, more complex etc.

In practice however, I miss how streamlined BC2 was and the maps in BC2 were way better.

BF3 has way too many meat grinder maps too.

Also the front end annoys me. I feel like I am into a game way quicker in BC2.

I like both but I only racked up 145 hours on bc2 and now past 500 on bf3 which tells me something..............

do many people still play BC2?

I bought BD2 after i bought BF3 but i've played about 2 hours of it. I do enjoy BF3 though, i'd never played and Battlefield game before BF3, always been a COD boy but i don't think i'd ever go back to COD now....

People still play the hardcore bottleneck expansion?

Yeah I have to admit, I love BC2, but Vietnam had terribly flawed maps. A conquest game consisted of each team capturing their "home" flag, then racing the middle one, one team capturing it then just grenade spam at the choke for the rest of the map.

BC2 vanilla on the other hand is fantastic. It just captures that intimite intensity of battle that is all rather formulaic in BF3.

Having said all that, I really do enjoy playing MOH, but it was always disappointing as there are only 3-4 good maps. Its by far the best game in terms of sound though, the gun sounds are just great and it harks back to the days of the Barrett in COD4 in that it wasn't a particular brilliant gun, but the sound of each shot was just so immensely satisfying that it didn't matter if you missed with every bullet. If BF3 was a mix between MOH and BC2, then we would have had the perfect game.

The maps are just terrible, clustered and chokey that descend into gren spam.

Why is it always the maps that let the recent Battlefield games down?
They need a new map design team

One map did when playing 64 players, the rest were great.

Plus there was a whole three primary weapons per class, basically doing away with ******* level up systems.

BC2 and 64 players. Goes to show how clustered the maps are for just 32 players, BF3 is just as bad with 64. BF2 got 64 player maps perfect, then again it was designed for PC first.
