BC2 is the better game, I remember saying this just days after BF3 came out and everyone gave me a puzzled glance. It's all about the destruction, which single-handedly changes the game completely. No two fights are the same unlike in Battlefield 3. They completely missed a golden opportunity there with not allowing destruction anymore on the same scale as BC2 where entire buildings could be levelled.

I can't tell -- I wasn't a massive fan of BC2, but I think just the overall disappointment of BF3 would probably edge me towards a tie for crappy-place. Still remember thinking 'hmm' to Operation Metro during the beta -- BC2s maps were horrific chokepointy nonsense, but Metro had really refined that into something utterly awful.

Then came the announcement that Metro would be Conquest 64.. now in my head I pictured the Metro rush map but with something like Seine Crossing being above the metro, a big multi-leveled, frantic city map, lovely...

what I got was the Metro rush map now in ultra-extreme-cluster****-4000 mode. Then discovering most of the other maps weren't much better. That the larger, open, vehicle maps were in the minority. My little heart was crushed that DICE could do that. I'm not even going to go into the endless bugs, gameplay problems that stem as a result of terrible and completely inconsistent game design.

What a shame :(

I enjoyed BF2, enjoyed BFBC2 and now like to play BF3. I'm not a hardcore gamer but I struggle to understand the BF3 "big disappointment" threads which there are numerous, to me it looks like that EA also attracts a certain amount of animosity which seems to filter through to the game itself for all the right or wrong reasons.

For me all three games stand separately and I wouldn't really compare them against each other. I'm certainly not going back to play BF2, not because I dislike the game now but couldn't be asked to invest the time to make it work with my Windows7.

wONT bother with bf3 then. BUt am amazed to find people still are big funs of BF2?! Wow thing i loved about that game was you could call in air strikes and give more orders to team... Also there was the big demo you could play for ages!

Out of all the things that bother me in BF3, the vaulting system is definitely the worst. It's always the first thing that frustrates me when I play and soon leads to me closing the game.

I found far fewer problems in BC2, I put vastly more time into it and I was much better at it. So +1 to BC2.

I've not played BF3 outside of the single player campaign primarily because there is no offline bot mode, I don't get a lot of enjoyment out of playing online with all the cheats and awesome players that tend to dwell on the 'noob only' servers.

I'm still playing BC2. It is a far more fun game than BF3.

Likewise.
I find BC2 much more fun to play.

BF3 is nice and all and aspects of it are better than BC2, just not as much fun, it feels too 'serious'.
It's bloomin' hard to spot anyone. It could have been a much better game with a few changes to the maps, how could they not have noticed the problems during play testing?

~730 hours on BC2 according to statverse
~50 hours on BF3

I only played BF3 in the beta, but based on that BC2 by miles. No point in giving reasons really as everyone likes different things, but at the same time BF3 just had no atmosphere to it so wasn't immersive, and the gameplay felt really clunky.
I still play BC2 a bit, but I'm trying to get better at Quake Live at the mo, so in terms of chronology (if not gameplay) I guess you could say I'm going backwards...

EDIT: I also felt BC2 was the more skill-based game.
