I have spent 700 hrs on BC2, then bought Battlefield 3, I have put 150 hrs on this.
I can honestly say dont bother with B3 - the maps are awful and the gameplay isnt as 'solid' as BC2. Also, and I would say the main deal breaker is that stats do not have the value they did with BC2.
Stick with BC2. I stopped playing B3 a month ago, realised it was a waste of my time and money - especially when they released Platinum and Close Quarters.
I was surprised that B3 turned out to be a turkey

BC2 is vastly superior imo and the main reason for this is the maps. BF3 maps are awful.

Also I found BF3 gameplay a lot more clunky.

Was really disappointed with BF3 as it looked like it would be superb, it wasn't.

I don't know, they are equally just as bad as each other.

But I did play more BC2 than BF3.

I clocked < 40 hours on BF3, but > 50 on BC2.

This is someone who put 1000+ hours in 2142 over a course of 4 years and maintained top ~100.

I think most people will agree that if you were a big fan of BF2 or 2142 and expected more of the same from BC2/BF3 then both games were disappointing.

Personally I didn't really have those expectations and as such I really enjoy BC2 as a fun/frantic game with a few nice touched to separate it from the crowd - destruction of buildings/etc and absolutely immense in game sound that really enables you to listen out for people and work out where they are.

Are many still playing bf2? I might reinstall it then. I've tried the other two and they are pretty but I really miss bf2.

5000 on average still play BF2. And a lot still play the MODs.

Wow that many? I do play it still a lot and always see lots and lots of full 64 player servers. Didnt know it would amount to that many players, I did see a 100 man server as well lol. Not tried that yet though.

played BC2 for about 10 hours couldnt get into it as it was my first BF game and coming from quake 3 it sucked!

whoever i love BF3 1100+ hours in and still thousands more to go :D

but i dont have any problems with BF3 like people mention, smooth silky awesome experience everytime i play!

Really? I was a big Q3 player and I found BC2 to be closer to the experience than BF3 (neither were that close of course).

bf3. bf3 inherited a lot of things i dislike about bfbc2. Vehicle unlocks, maps that are trying to be rush and conquest all at once. Console influence. BF3 should have been bc3 imo. But like said bf2 dispite all the flaws and there were many, is miles better than both.

BF2 all the way for me followed by BC2 then BF3 nearly every server i join seems laggy :( even when showing a good ping Dam you EA :P

I enjoyed BC2 for 20/30 hours, but then quickly got tired.. even the audio got on my nerves after so long.

There was no audio clarity, everything just sounded exaggerated and distorted, there never seemed to be silence.. it felt like there was always noise for the sake of noise, ambient background explosions, planes flying overhead etc.

Patches too few and far between M60 OP for months, NS2000 OP for months.

I guess BC2 just wasn't the game for me, nor are any of the modern BF games.

Yeah, there's a lot of ambient fluff. I spent some time tweaking my sound levels so mostly I just hear people's foot steps now ;)

my mates goes mad at me as could never hear footsteps :D

bc2 is better overall

bf3 is a console fps game being sold to pc players as a pc game

would play bc2 regular if i didnt get random blue screen of death when i play it :( EA dice making beautiful broken multiplayer games since ........forever :p

Bad Company 2 because I was actually quite good at it. BF3 I cannot be doing with because of the prone feature.

Prefer BF3. But i like some BC2 stuff. Like friendly fire, and not going to be kicked for having a good score. Happens a lot on the bought servers.

BC 2 is far far far far far far far far................... better than BF 3!

Over 600 hours on BC 2 and about 100 hours for BF 3 and I haven't played BF 3 for months and months now and won't be again due to the premium rubbish and close quarters maps etc. and BF 4 being announced as well now with stuff like VOIP for the PC etc. emmm, what about BF 3 and VOIP and a proper commo rose etc.?
