Worst min/max damage roll ever :/ ilvl 63 my ass.

Yey, reached level 60 on my Demon Hunter. My second level 60. Not sure whether to start a 3rd? Got a wiz and a demon

is there always a case of bad 'luck' when it comes to combinations of enemies and their abilities and their methods of killing you? Or will there come a time when i can always have a decent chance of killing them with enough gear?

With enough gear you can kill anything. There isnt a pack in the game I cant kill now. Sometimes its not worth the effort though, for me its mainly invulnerable minions and if its the wrong base mob and affixes (like molten fast demon tremors) at the far end of a dungeon I'll skip it.

How much gold are people spending to get a Barb through Inferno?

I'm not anywhere near done with the game but i'm near the end of act 2 now i think and i.ve spent about 600k gold so far but that is buying a few sets of gear to experiment with gear.

I imagine it takes silly amounts of gold to get really good gear now the rmah is here and most will put up items for real money or the best part of the uk's national debt on the gold auction house so try not to compare amounts you're told by people who got buying items before the rmah was bought out :p

Quite a lot once you reach act 3.

Currently on (buffed stats) 9.9k armour, 40.5% crit chance / 300% crit damage / 800 all resist / 14% dodge / 18% block (3700-4700) and 42.5k DPS (1h + shield) and I still can't clear act 3 =/ just killed Ghom.

Anyway, Are these items of use to anyone? free to a good home! Add me, Alpherah#1389
Bracers: 352 armour, 78 str, 56 int, 34 vit, 51 all resist.

Wand (blue): 756 DPS, +14 arcane power, 47% crit damage

Shoulders: 306 Armor, 169 str, 26 vit, 33 fire resist, 56 resist all

Boots: 247 armour, 79 Str, 43 int, 63 vit, 27 arcane resist, 47 resist all

Boots: 416 armour, 190 dex, 51 dex, 44 cold res

Gloves: 529 armour, 81 int, 31 physical res, 39 all resist, 29% crit damage

I probably spent 30-40 million on the gear to get my barb through inferno. At the time (prices have probably changed now)

12 million - 900 dps, 800ish loh, str weapon
12 million - storm shield
4 million - helm of command
2 million - bul kathos ring
Other items ~ 5 million perhaps

Tanky build which although didn't do too much dps, he was very survivable and did diablo first time.

Now I have switched to the standard double whirlwind build for farming I have regeared almost completely and left my previously prized legendaries gathering dust in my inventory in anticipation that they might be useful again in pvp!

Maybe 10-20mil for mine. Don't know exactly. I know my weapon cost me 1.7mil and my boots were 2mil and I found the chest armour. The gems probably add a fair bit of value as they're all Star.

Nice welcome back gift after a couple of weeks off. 4.25mil waiting in the AH for me.

I had a request via trust to post the gear and build I use to melee in Act 3 so here it is

My LoH sucks and I could do with more armor/resistances so some packs I will still have to kite a bit, hence why Hungering Arrow remains. I would say I have very good but not end game gear.

Using the more traditional passives of Archery and Steady Aim my dps is 78k. With Sharpshooter (which I never use but seems to be the way everyone compares their dps) I am at 132k.

I keep tactical advantage in there coz I'm lazy and it makes doubling back through dungeons faster. I have done it with archery passive instead and to be honest the kill speed wasnt that much greater.

Basic tactics:- Keep Shuriken Cloud up at all times. Run into a pack with Shadowpower active, drop caltrop, spam grenades. Repeat until everthing is dead. Only really have to move for arcane sentries or 3 stacks of desecrator. Smokescreen remains for dodging frozen/molten explosions and fast movement. Make good use of corners to avoid molten and fire chains.

The main issue this build has is with mobs that run away from you and also have a powerful attack, like the fat blob things in tower of the cursed with the fireball attack. I just kite them as its easier than constantly trying to herd them together to get enough attacks in to leech. I do also really miss having vault coz of the speed it allows you to get around at, but I cant find a slot for it until I can drop either HA or Shuriken cloud.

Nothing is selling on the RMAH anymore though. I was making quite a bit of beer money selling items at one point. Seems to have died a death.

So if nothing selling in the RMAH, and there's only garbage in the gold AH (or everything decent selling for 40m+ gold) where's everyone gone? Everyone just stopped playing?

How do I get anywhere near 1m+ gold? Can't do act II inferno so do I just keep farming act I with as much GF/MF gear as I can get away with?

You get lucky and find something someone wants to buy, or you start scouring the AH for bargains to flip for some profit.

I think this is always how it has been. I got really disheartened when I hit a brick wall originally in act 2 inferno, knowing that I would have to farm for ages to be able to progress. Then I got lucky, sold a ring for 20 million and the world was my oyster :) That was a couple of months ago now but I don't think I could have handled playing the game anymore if it wasn't for that bit of luck..

Well every weapon has a minimum and maximum damage it can do, hence why not every hit is for the same value. +min and +max damage modify those numbers upwards so your minimum and maximum damage amountsare higher.

When they appear on a weapon they are already factored into the dps number you see on the item.

argh im gonna bang my head through my monitor lol

cant kill inferno ghom with my wiz :(

any one want to help with ghom? my id is Xzenon#2611 :)

I killed him last night with my wiz, was a really hard fight. you have to pack the poison gas in as much as possible. How much DPS do you have?

Also, if anyone wants to farm act 3 inferno with me then just add me: pokemonkid#2437
