You went for boring interior!!?

Me and my girlfriend went for wasabi green :D

So for almost £7,000 to lease a car and end up with no car after 2 years.

Or pay another £8,600 to keep a 2 year old car.

I don't think I can ever stomach buying a new car. The mere thought of giving someone a deposit of that size and then monthly payment and not able to keep the car seems alien to me.

I can make sense some times.

I contract hired a car for my wife, 1.2k down and 400 + Vat per month over 2 years. So total cost over 2 years is 12.5k. Which is less then I would suffer in depreciation, I don't have to pay road tax, tyres are all new, my money is not stuck in a car and finally I don't have to mess around trying to sell the car after 2 years.

So the over all cost of ownership is about the same as me buying a 1 year old car and keeping it 2 years.

Quicker than a new M3 in a straight line :D

Unless you've done some serious stripping of weight, then I am sorry but errrr no.

Knew a person who used to have a VXR Astra, he was running 330BHP at the flywheel.

My EVO X at the time was running about 390BHP.

Upto some crazy leptons from a roll from say 50mph, the EVO X was only just nudging ahead, 1-2 car lengths at maximum.

Having driven a new M3 and having friends owned them, once on a roll they were quicker than my EVO X, and above 100mph, the difference was quite noticable, as in the M3 started driving away.

So your Astra is either very light compared to a new one, or the M3 you came across was not trying quite as hard as you. ;)

P.S. Off course all of the above was performed on an airfield!!
