How to crack a truecrypt account?

Does true crypt have an option that after so many password attempts it self destructs? My iPhone has the option that after ten bad attempts to unlock it, it erases itself. I've never used true crypt, but if I had a need to use it, a self destruct option would be nice to avoid instances were someone was looking to get access.

Didn't think of that. I'm pretty sure they have to duplicate for digital forensics anyway, so in that case (it being seized by law enforcement) self destruct would be useless.

Not really, 6 chars is weak and could take from 10 minutes up to 18 days.

He said 6 to 10. He'll be wasting a huge amount of time if it is 10 characters in length.

?? how so - if he's got a rough idea idea of the length of the password then surely brute force is workable

10 characters is going to take a very long time, even if he has 3x7970.

Although thats with the default speed of 500,000 passwords per second. Not sure of a reasonable entry for that, so left it at default.

You can't implement something like that as the hard drive can be write protected or cloned.

You can't implement something like that as the hard drive can be write protected or cloned.

Booby trap the USB ports on the system, store the data on a memory stick wrapped in magnesium with a light activated ignition source ( and triggered by usage of the USB ports )

surely you don't have that many passwords you cant just work your way through all the ones you have used until you hit the right one cant think of anything of mine I couldn't work the password out in under an hour or wracking my brain over old passwords used.

Oh no. I wasn't trying to make fun, I genuinely didn't get the jist of the first three. That he wanted something cracked I understood. It probably isn't relevant though.

My sentence was shortened by leaving out a redundant 'they', so "they still don't tbh" is correct I think? maybe I left out a preceeding ' to indicate something missing, not sure how to phrase it.
