Oo I really like the lighting in those. The background works well with the model too. What did you use to achieve this? I really enjoy reading portrait sections of photography forums to see how people got their lighting sorted. I can see one umbrella in the glasses, but that's it :D

Edit: nevermind, I just clicked through to flickr:

Strobist: Dual Lencarta ElitePro300 either side of model slightly above head height. Both firing through Octoboxes.

Thanks, although a little PP as the background was a lot more colourful and the model a lot more tanned. I like the slightly desaturated look as it gives more of a fashion feel over brighter mode bold glamour style.

DJ Switch, I like your stuff. Whoever said you can do epic landscapes with a standard prime.

Cheers. I've found myself using the 50mm far more these days. I only really carry that and an uwa on days/nights out unless I've got something specific in mind. The weight and size are just ideal for a walkabout. I just wished I had a tripod that fitted the same bill. One would have been handy that night.

I really like that

kinda creepy in a way (if you know what i mean)

Great tones on this! What was the colour one like?

Thanks. I thought the b+w had more atmosphere than the colour although it's maybe just me. It was evening time and the light was only really hitting the mountains so the colours in the rest of the scene weren't that great. I had to lift the shadows a lot in pp due to the light, or lack thereof, in the scene. Colour one is below, Clown.

Nicely done on the Olympic pics. ;)

Finally got a dragonfly..... or so I thought.
But after a bit of hunting to find out what it was, it isn't a dragonfly after all. It's a damselfly. The Banded Demoiselle to be exact.
A useful guide I found says that if the wings are folded at rest then it's a damselfly. If they're spread, it's a dragonfly. So there's your fact o' the day :)
So my quest for a dragonfly continues!!
