Why don't you guys roll on Desolation, 2 reasons: 1, so we can kick your assin 5v5
we have some players who take this very seriously (they still play swtor just for this) and 2 its more guilds to link up with WvWvW.
Ehh? Just because they say they like pvp doesn't make them serious or good. SWTOR doesn't even have good pvp.
I am sorry but you guys are pvers and should not bother with tournaments : ).
It doesn't matter much which server we go to as you can always make level 1 character and go straight into the mists. I at least don't plan on even getting level2 in pve for that single reason.
Aren't tournys cross server anyways?
there are major advantages to levelling pve fully before you pvp in that you will have subtle gains in stats compared to a virgin level 80.
I believe that only applies to WvWvW, whereas sPvP and tPvP fixes people base stats (dependent on class, of course) to a level-playing field.
Yup in PVP everyone is put on an equal playing field with all traits unlocked, skills and armour, weapons, jewelry and rune vendors.
In WvWvW though people who do a lot of PVE are going to have an advantage due to the extra trait points and stronger gear. It won't make much of a difference though, as your normally in big groups and not 1v1.

Do you have to preorder the digital copy directly to get into the 3 day headstart? Any news of GW2 appearing on Steam?
Been digesting footage of GW2 all weekend after not paying much attention previously. Very much looking forward to getting involved in the MMO scene again once it's released!

Looks like The Immortals have a pretty big roster and is still growing, hopefully we will see some ownage in WvW!

No as long as you find a retailer who sells pre-purchase, tho I don't know if you can pre-purchase a Hard copy, but I'm guessing you can, just go look at all the big retailers who sell the game.
I have played a warrior and the amount of crying and whining I have gotten that it's OP is ridiculous when from I personal experience I think it's completely balanced as I know that good players with right set of skills or just a good reflex can totally deny any damage coming from warrior because it's so cooldown dependant.

The warrior he was fighting was quite bad but it doesnt change the fact that every single one of warriors attacks can be dodged in several different ways.
I think any balance whine your seeing before the game is even released is pretty ridiculous, however I don't think any MMO can avoid it, unfortunately its WoW mentality that has been engrained over many years now. Hopefully arenanet are smart enough to see through it.

As you say just need to hope anet have more spine than bliss when it comes to resisting whiners. I'm not fussed if one class is OP 1v1 when a game is based around 5v5 or WvW battles, unfortunately some just want an easy win all the time.
My brief beta experience implied that gw2 will be heavily skill based and I think class balance will be less vital than knowing how to play your own class and how your class should be played against other classes. Glass cannons and the like will not be present like in other MMO's as you have to be self aware and self sufficient in all areas which tends to lean against the viability of the glass cannon spec.
You just hide at the back and squeal (like normal mate) I'll keep suicide charging the bases to draw them out
