Oh God no

Given how similar Fallout and S.T.A.L.K.E.R are, they couldn't just pop it on Gamebryo/Creation. I'm sure the X-Ray engine code came with the IP.

Does Zenimax just buy every Open world game it has the pleasure of seeing put into a file cabinet?

Ah well, i am just pleased they funded Dishonoured, so i respect them more than most of the useless authoritarian publishing *****.

I daresay Bethesda are aware that they can't just reskin FO and give it a the Famous S.T.A.L.K.E.R badge.

They do seem to understand gaming well and have a great pedigree. I could believe they are fans of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R game, may even have learnt/been inspired by it and would want to do the series justice.

Glass half full n'all that.

Plus they could lost a lot of respect and face if they f it up and will know it.

No no no no NO!

All that going to happen is Bethesda will use their ****ty engine to make a dumbed down console port of 'S.T.A.L.K.E.R' for the masses of console invalids. It won't have any of the charm and character the original games had and I also doubt it'll have any of the huge explorable levels too.

The only way this would work is if Bethesda somehow managed to get the whole S.T.A.L.K.E.R team back together and leave them be with the game, literally only funding it.

Is it Bethesda the developers, or Zenimax the publishers that have the rights?

Fix'd. :D

I like Zenimax though, they put a lot of their guys on Morrowind because Bethesda was tiny. Now they are creating the Elder Scrolls MMO away from Bethesda as to not interupt the development of TES VI.

.. How is it mostly barren and bland?.. Have you seen Nagrand, Stranglethorn Vale? Everywhere's beautiful, seriously..

Most likely not, but that hardly accounts for much of the overall gameworld, I leveled from 1-85 the normal way, and even WotLK areas were bland and ctrl+c'd.

Cata brought in some nice areas, but they were still pretty bland, with little variety inside the actual zones. Not seen MoP as WoW lost me a year ago.

Even if MoP is epic, that's still only 1/5 of the entire game that isnt bland and repetitive.

I certainly never think of WoW as bland, maybe showing its age now, but bland? anyway, i think its just a difference of opinion and you could discuss it all day and neither convince the other. so, moving on...

I'd agree with Omaeka that Skyrim is far more detailed than WoW. However that's all Skyrim has going for it in my opinion, a fairly large detailed world with excellent graphics. The storylines and gameplay are poor.

How on earth is Storm Peaks repetive and bland? Same with Icecrown? Howling Fjord? Only place I could possibly agree with you on is Borean Tundra, and even then..

Nagrand? STV? Durotar? Pretty much all of outlands?
Morrowind, if you're accusing WoW of being bland, was a desert in comparison. I enjoyed wandering around it yeah, but it was mostly the same copied fortress, a few cities and a few boring plants dotted around. It was far more boring than WoW ever has been, so really don't try and accuse WoW of being this bad when Morrowind was exactly what you described then..

MW was a game from 2000 on a low budget, for what it was, how it came about and when it was made, its pound for pound 10x as impressive as WoW has been or ever will be. Howling Fjord I remember well, but it was essentially the same throughout the entire zone, even copy and pasted enemies. Wow has a lot of content, but its not stretched out as well as it should be, its just clusters of content with nothing but blandness and boring traveling inbetween. Skyrim and TES in general do not have that, when you consider random events, actual solid content and other things. WoW has some of the worst spacing and pacing I've ever seen.

It is nowhere near as impressive as WoW. When you start Morrowind, you start in the underbelly of a ship. Wow? Well..
OverviewStormwind.JPG

Yeah, a bit more impressive. And how was Howling Fjord the same throughout the entire zone? You went from viking inhabited cliffs to dark forests to large snowy mountains, and the enemies are copy pasted? Well, yeah, because WoW has to support about 5000x more than morrowind at any one time, yet they still manage some variation, plus, morrowind is designed so you can strip enemies and take their stuff, WoW isn't, having variation to the scale morrowind does is a waste considering in The Elder Scrolls the enemies level and scale with you, WoW doesn't, you move onto a new zone. And how is boring travelling in between?
When I'm levelling in STV I'm travelling over beautiful rivers and waterfalls with a crashed zeppelin in the tree etc.. hardly boring, in fact, more fun to travel around in WoW than I have found in Morrowind actually, and I doubt you're seriously considering Morrowinds enviroment of "desert..desert..different bit of desert..hills..desert" to be entertaining and not bland? You seriously can't be considering that to be superior over "jungle..river..huge waterfalls.. dark forest... graveyard" if were going to apply my same wording to it.

And worst spacing and pacing you've ever seen? Wow, you can't of played this game you speak so highly of then, which had easily the worst combat I've ever seen in a game, the pacing was awful, it made me give up on it.
People see morrowind through rose tinted glasses, they don't see it what it is now which is overrated. I prefer any of the elder scrolls games to it.

TBH I've ever only played about 20-30 minutes of both FO3 and STALKER and both felt clunky to play and were BOTH bug ridden to hell really couldn't get into them due to those 2 points. So I can't really see zenimax/bethesda making any worse a game.
