*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

It's always the left side as it's design flaw.

Thanks for clarifying that - i posted about 10 minutes too early and found the info after reading more of the fix site.

It's looking increasingly likely that i'll get another with screen lift as I'm actually baffled how some units don't have the problem given the cause?

If my replacement has a similar problem I will probably attempt the fix...

Looks good to me. I'm currently typing on thumb keyboard in landscape mode and have to say it is one of my best app purchases so far.

Agreed.I'm back with thumb keyboard too. Swiftkey can do one if they think I'm paying twice just to use their app on my phone and tablet. **** takers.

This is what I've been thinking of doing for a long time. Or rather, asking someone to do for me... Like this guys set up, but I would want a USB port at the side, connected to the input on the N7, so I could plug in a USB stick with a movie on if I wanted.

guys, anyone using nova launcher, what icons pack work.

Ive tried a few and only glasskart seems to work, not xelium or micons :(

is it a JB thing?

OK, my return is being processed by Google but I will be receiving my Tesco replacement tomorrow while Google have yet to process my return (So I will essentially have 2 registered devices.)

What happens with regards to the Google 15 credit and the film? Does this get sorted out automagically or will I have to activate a second lot of credit - or by some happy circumstance will i have 2 lots of credit?

Does the first Google play credit get cancelled when Google eventually process return or does it just swap to the next device even though it was bought from a different retailer?

I realize it's on my Google account and not the device but I'm interested to know how this will all sort out in the wash... so to speak.

You sadly only get one lot of credit as it's tied to your account, not to the device.

Thanks for the reply.

That's what I'm confused about - will they take the credit away for the old device and then re-credit with the new one?

As I will have 2 devices overlapping will this confuse the account? I know it's confused me :)

No. You get one credit per account, regardless of whether you return or exchange the device

Thanks again.

So even if you return the device and don't get another you still have the 15 credit?

Good PR, if that is the case.

Regardless of my minor problems the device really is a stonking product for the money.

I purchased this little contraption from a rain forest for £3.50, it come with a silicone back cover thing and a screen protector. I was only interested in the stand, not bad eh?

That is very funky for the price - i may pick one up when i order my case.

Of course i need a 95% defect free device first (or at least one that i can live with)...

Can anyone lucky enough to have one of these test out a Starcraft 2 commentary replay for me to see if the screen is comfortable to watch one on.

I tried in the shop but no internet was available :/

I am curious as this is about the most detailed thing I would do on it. My sister in-laws Samsung galaxy tab 2 7.0 was just a bit too pixelated (being a 1024x600) did not get that crispy 720p look. So I expect it to look nice and sharp on the screen, but is it watchable without squinting?

Any Huskystarcraft or PsyStarcraft would be a good test.

Thanks
