Commodore 64 is 30! (I feel old)

Had the C64 (think it was a slightly revised model as it looked a bit different to the one in the BBC video). Good times.

Games wise... well there are so many...

IK+ always has fond memories
Spellbound was brilliant on both the C64 and Spectrum
Colony has had so many spin offs in it's own way - the first trading type game I can remember
Feud was better on the MSX but was still a great game
Way of the Exploding Fist - started the 1 on 1 beat em ups as far as I'm concerned
Way of the Exploding Fist 2 - wasted literally hours wandering around on this
Bubble Bobble - don't think there's a better platformer - brilliant music and 2 player
CREATURES - such a polished platformer - great torture scenes as well
Emlyn Hughes International Footy - brilliant game if a little easy
Microprose Soccer - epic two player game - five aside was great fun
Green Beret - nigh on perfect arcade reproduction
Ghosts n Goblins - played this on the arcade and the C64 was damn close
Rainbow Islands - epic, epic platformer and as hard as nails
Frankie Goes to Hollywood - weird doesn't cover it but still loved it
Dizzy series - loved every one of them some were better on the Amiga but played everyone of them on the C64
The Last Ninja series - again completed everyone but they were so different - great games
Elvira 2 - never thought this would be out on the C64 and they made a damn good effort of it - great graphics and atmosphere
Nodes of Yesod / Arc of Yesod - weird adventure game, never compelted but spent too much time on it!
Supremacy - wasted so much time on this game as well - epic music and different gameplay kept me hooked.

I could go on and on mentions must go to Nemesis, Armalyte, Barbarian, Salamander, Cybernoid, California Games. Druid, Paperboy, Parallax, Rambo, Uridium, Platoon, Wizball, Ghostbusters, Bruce Lee, LLamatron (what the hell was going on in this?), Infiltrator, Death Wish, Target Renegade, Enigma Force... I could go on and on....

Delta the music was just awesome also sound track to Zoids just mega.

I completed Uridum after for billion attempts lol

The commodore was the first computer I learned assembly language on.

I still have my commodore 128 but can not find the power supply :(

Great days.

This brings back memories. Zzap 64 was brill. What about about Paradroid? Did anyone have Daley Thompsons decathlon? Dunno how many joy sticks I trashed playing it.

I had a C64C from quite an early age. Still have it at my Dad's house. Absolutely loved it and learnt to program in BASIC on it as well. I started off with a couple of cartridges but later upgraded to the cassette player.

My game of choice was Flimbo's Quest.

I also have fond memories of playing Chase HQ 2

Long live the C64!

I loved my C64. It died fairly horrible death though.

Like all electronics, it ran on smoke. Unfortunately, the smoke escaped and the C64 stopped working. :(

I bought this instead though - so much easier than connecting up a C64 and drives. All licensed and legal and everything. :D

That's pretty cool, i was going to buy the amiga forever but felt the games were seriously lacking so i went Gamebase instead and filled those DVDS :D

I've got last years Amiga Forever set. Tempted to upgrade to this years, not entirely sure what the difference is.

My original Amiga hardware still works though, upping the A1200 to a 060 and sticking it in a tower sure helped. CD32 is still used on a reasonably regular basis. A4000T is stored in it's box as it's almost worth too much to use. :(

Competition Pro joysticks... does any other stick beat them?

I miss the 8bit 16 sounds from old games :(

shows you i doubt youd see a ps3 still working after 30 years tbh.

or even a xbox

I remember getting my C64 for Christmas 1982. Not got that actual one anymore as got a C128 about 2 or 3 years later. Thats boxed and still in the loft (works fine had it down last year). Got the 1541 disk drive, got a commodore printer (garfield print magic I think it was called - let you do large banners and stuff crazy!), tape decks (2 or 3 - alignment was always a pain),and all my tape games, and disk games. My original competition pro joystick is sitting here attached to my A1200 Amiga. And yes I remember mega loading times for China Miner - I'm sure the worst I ever had was a game called Orange Squash which took like an hour.

Good memories - my favourite games were Paradroid and Wizball. My 1st ever game I still have was Lazarian and it came on cartridge. Even now I remember my 1st ever purchased game with Christmas money - Hexpert by Anirog (A Q Bert clone). The magic of getting Action Replay/Freeze Frame/Expert Cartridge and being able to save and turbo load convert your games :)

Monty Mole - Gremlin Graphics...

Arthur Scargill was a baddy in that game ???

I used to code demo's in them olden days.

Been after a C128 for years but the C128Ds are really expensive.

I still have my C64 / Amiga 1200 Tower and Amiga 2000. I was after completing the series with a 128 and a C65 but could never find one at a cheap enough price. My 1200 needs a new accelerator as well but they are like rocking horse ****.
