FAO: People who live in Fife

Anstruther and Crail are small towns and both make St Andrews look large, which it isn't. I've no idea on pricing as it's a long time since I lived there but it doesn't look unusual. Dundee is bigger but is also a ghetto so don't move there (sorry SPW!)

I stayed in (or just outside) Anstruther for just over a year, had adsl max with adsl24. No issues syncing at 8128k on a 30dB line. St Andrews is quite expensive & full of tourists/students.

You will love Fife - it's beautiful and peaceful and Anstruther is a crackin wee village with the best Fish and Chips.

Apparently TalkTalk have LLU there (the only one) so you may be able to get 20mb broadband or so?

I have rang TalkTalk and they say they will give me 15 mb, which is up from 5-8 estimated from everyone else. Hopefully they are not BSing me.

After going to view houses we went for this one

Still waiting to hear back from the estate agent for the final confirmation but at the moment we plan to move on the 11th.

Link doesn't work dude

I'm with TalkTalk and getting 16Mb ADSL which honestly isn't too bad. Been offered fibre 40/80Mb but for now the 16 is sufficient for my needs. I'm sure you'll love Fife, Anstruther and many of the other little villages round the coast are lovely. :)

The wee Kingdom that actually hates itself.

News in the car the other day had the, er I think Provest or something from somewhere on trying to tell Fifers what was good about Fife. Must have been Kingdom FM of course. While I appreciated and agreed with what he said, he didn't sound entirely self convinced.. or possibly depressed.. and I don't think this kind of campaigning by local politicians is going to improve the self esteem. It's what makes a Fifer after all! Some of the banter between Fifers an Toonies at work is brilliant. ;)

So it doesn't, must have been in my cache as it works on the other page for me.

Edit: or I messed it up, fixed now I think.

We had a good look round last weekend and Anstruther seemed very nice. Well, apart from some one putting haggas on my fried breakfast. The potato scones were OK though.

For anyone like me who has never heard of them - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potato_scone
