Crucial m4 running slow what am I doing wrong ?

I have an msi p55 gd-80 the ssd is plugged in to sata 1 on the board I changed to achi in bios and installed windows with only the ssd and dvd drive connected

AM I supposed to install some new sata drivers or something as well ?
firmware is 000F

Your motherboard is only Sata II so those speeds look ok.

As a comparison I'm using a Crucial C300 on exactly the same motherboard as you -

The board is limited to SATA 2 speeds, so your M4 speeds are normal.

Just for a comparison here are my speeds on a EVGA P55 FTW running SATA 2.

The write speeds seem a bit low on that board?

yeh only way your going to get better speeds would be to RAID those M4's

That's because he has the 64gb model

. The 64gb is rated for 110mb/s write, your 256gb is rated for 300mb/s.

man need a ssd so badly, been using this 2tb Green 5400rpm drive for 3 years already lol
