Do you ever go for a walk on your own.

From time to time, but 99.9% of my walking is done with companions.

It seems odd that we can't just walk on our own, we need a camera or dog to 'make it normal' as if you'd be some sort of freak if you just walked up a hill or round a lake on your lonesome.

When I went on holiday to Majorca I rented a moped for the missus and I to get around. When she just wanted to sit by the pool I'd go off on random treks and go down all the extra-rural roads that you don't see on the coach from the airport. Really interesting to see random stuff going on in the small villages that aren't just a bunch of hotels and shops selling tat where all the holidayers go.

Sounds a bit *****...
.

how?

rabbits are vermin anyways.

and just to clarify. i DO NOT take my dogs out just to chase rabbits, it just happens the terrier has a very high prey drive and the rottie just likes to chase things.

they have not caught on yet. otherwise they would have a nice rabbit dinner cooked for them and i would have some socks with rabbit ears on the top :D

Couldn't have put that better to be honest.

Walking with people though doesn't give you the same feeling of being completely relaxed and at harmony.

Then when you're by yourself you risk being verbally and physically abused by a bunch of 15 year old chavs smoking weed on the river banks. ~ Then again I suppose that depends on your area.

I used to walk for miles and miles in all weathers with just my dog, but since he died I just don't have the inclination, just doesn't feel 'right' somehow. :(

You may feel guilty at first but buying a new dog, especially a puppy is great treatment for getting over the loss of the old one in my opinion.
