***The Official Samsung Galaxy S III Thread***

On the latest version of CM10 at the moment, and it's been flawless so far.

No memory leak issues yet and the camera/video recording both work excellently.

CM10 has 2 threads on XDA:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779426

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1779578 (this one is for general stuff, so better)

I just get the downloads from here: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommana...t&name=codeworkx&deviceName=Samsung Galaxy S3

They appear there when released, and you'll see when to check if you follow the XDA threads.

The current version is: 10-20120802-EXPERIMENTAL-i9300-CODEWORKX

And remember to get the Gapps to flash, they're in the OP of both threads.

Im sure its in this thread somewhere, but can someone run through the steps for someone who hasnt rooted from Stock Samsung ICS to CM10?Thanks in advance :)

A chap on here did a root guide, I've just scanned it and it seems to be all in order, so follow that: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18412021

Once rooted, you should have an app installed called 'CWM', it's a picture of a cogwheel.

Then, you need to put the CM10 ROM (and Gapps file) on your external SD card (they are in my previous post, above).

Enter the CWM app and reboot into recovery. Alternatively to do this, you can turn the phone off, then turn it on by holding volume up, home and power.

First, when in recovery, do a Nandroid Backup (it's under backup), it will make an image of your entire phone, so you can flash back to it at any time, should there be a problem.

Then, follow the steps from the CM10 thread:

- Download the zip (you've done this)
- Download Gapps (and this)
- Install the update zip from recovery (this option is obvious when in recovery - this is the main ROM file, CM10 in this case)
- Install gapps (same as above, just flash it right after you've flashed CM10)
- WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET (again, it's on the main menu in recovery)
- Reboot

That should do it. :)

i just used gobackup for this to move from Gingerbread on my S2 to ICS on my S3, worked absolutely flawlessly! Can't recommend it enough, seems far better than Titanium IME.

Has anyone noticed any problems with Viber on ICS? It works on WiFi but not over data, will not send or receive a message on a data connection :\

It's fine for me, I use it daily. It was recently updated and looks a lot better, and then was updated again for JellyBean, I was holding off using CM10 until they fixed it.

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling?

quick question about sim free mobiles in general, not sure if it was on contract or if it was from some where else but can the imei be blocked if the person i bought my phone from does not pay there contract bill ?

Back on CM10 again. No memory leaks yet but getting a lot of hanging when switching between apps by holding the home button. Anyone else get this?

Also am I right in thinking CM10 wont have project butter working properly until samsung release an official JB build?

I dont think so, usually imei's are blocked when the phone is reported stolen.

Its a chance you take when buying a used phone from someone.

Quick question, just to confirm something...

when you loose your phone and your paying insurance, u need a police crime reference number to get a new one right ?

Yep most insurance companies will ask for a crime reference number.
