Random question:

Why do people even bother with 680s if the 670s are so close in performance? Or does SLI with the 680s push them far ahead? (In that regard, then I can see the value of paying more now if you don't upgrade every cycle)

and some just bought them when they was released because we have no patience :D

670 is the card to have though and they are so close to the 680, it just does not make the 680 a sensible buy.

The only thing I can really think of is that there's a lot more OC choice in the 680 range for 4GB cards... I imagine those with heavy modding in mind (like skyrim) would find them very attractive.

I did some research and indeed, Skyrim can push 3GB with tons of visual mods which I do. Makes me wonder if a 680 would be slightly better for my choice since I don't plan to upgrade in years... but you know.

no, not at all. 4GB 670s are good enough tbh

I'd go for 2x 7950. Great value cards. They'll be fine for xfire as long as you have good case airflow.

It's a pity I'm being forced to stay with ATI. My driver experience was the 6950 was less than stellar, so I wanted to go back to green.

Damn. :p

Disagree. I've had some BSODs caused by driver issues with the AMD drivers.

Never had any problems with nvidia drivers ever. But each to their own. :p
