Your 580 sli will be faster than a single 680 but I don't think the 690 is worth its price.
It would make more sense to get 2 670's.
2x 670 are the sweetspot atm then ???
Random question:
Why do people even bother with 680s if the 670s are so close in performance? Or does SLI with the 680s push them far ahead? (In that regard, then I can see the value of paying more now if you don't upgrade every cycle)

no idea. some people will pay for the e-peen
Some want every single mhz they can possibly get

and some just bought them when they was released because we have no patience![]()

The only thing I can really think of is that there's a lot more OC choice in the 680 range for 4GB cards... I imagine those with heavy modding in mind (like skyrim) would find them very attractive.
I did some research and indeed, Skyrim can push 3GB with tons of visual mods which I do. Makes me wonder if a 680 would be slightly better for my choice since I don't plan to upgrade in years... but you know.
That too
no, not at all. 4GB 670s are good enough tbh
I'd go for 2x 7950. Great value cards. They'll be fine for xfire as long as you have good case airflow.

+1AMD drivers are fine![]()
