Anyone else getting these links on the forum?

Thanks v0n!

I've never stood so harshly against anything ocuk has done, sure i've disagreed with the emulator rule and the screensize rule but there's been a discussion and we both came to an agreement.

This however is completely unacceptable, i'll give it one week to be removed from pc gaming or no more indie titles, it's that simple

Oh no, not the indie titles.

:o

I've brung a lot of members over to ocuk and some great news to the members already here, you might not like it but believe me i've really dedicated myself to it. Unlike the ideas that come out of the forum bosses

I know Neil, but I think you need to calm down a little bit. Try a diplomatic approach first before threatening them. :p

Being diplomatic with ocuk has never ever worked in the past, can you honestly tell me what rules have been changed due to being diplomatic?

Remember the 10% argument or the no link to any competitors rule that was changed, that was due to some pretty big arguments and tons of suspensions. ocuk will not listen unless people are up in arms over it. Look at the situation with that EVGA fiasco(not related to ocuk) diplomatic discussion nothing happened, members got angry started threatening, guy got a replacement graphics card.

Neil its pretty obvious the direction OCuK are going recently and I really don't think they will give a monkeys think your wasting your time :(

True, it's been happening since the head boss sold himself

Tshirts with swear words on them, drinks with ocuk advertising, now spam advertising in peoples posts even with it turned off.

I'm sorry to hear some of you feel so passionately against it. It's only a few words and I don't really see it being a problem or an intrusion on my posting. Unless of course I'm completely missing something?

Because it's taking over peoples posts without their agreement, sure you can turn it off in CP but that is only as a display to yourself. If we can turn it off in CP and it also stops others from seeing it in your posts aswell then that's fine, but at this moment that isn't happening. I do not want to see my posts touched without my consent unless i have broken a rule. I want to bring members to this forum, i want them to get the latest indie news, post the latest updates on other forums to here, twitter to here etc. Last thing i want is them to see my indie posts taken over by advertising without my consent.

It is an intrusion on your posting because it's doing something you have not agreed to, would you mind if i edited every one of your posts with a link to my twitter page?. Well tough because i'm going to do it anyway

See what i mean :), anyway i'll give them a week atleast take it out of pc gaming!

Tell ya what if ocuk want to be so diplomatic about it, let the members of ocuk vote on it... let us vote if we want to see our posts taken over by advertising!

Give us the option to not only turn it off on CP but turn it off completely, from our display and stop it from showing our posts as adverts to OTHER members even if they are not registered or turned the option off.

p.s it's not some, it's a lot!

has it been removed? It's not working for me at all.

No the disgusting option is still there, under display options-keyword linking

But don't bother turning it off as even if you do, others will still see your keyword linked to advertising :o

I personally don't like it, and have disabled in CP as per previous instructions. But I am confused - will I still see the spam despite disabling it?

I have no problem with it editting my posts to display spam to those who choose not to disable it. I just don't want to see spam myself.

I don't see the big deal.

Turn off display if it annoys you personally, as can anyone else. Even with them it is certain key words only, words that rarely appear outside of a post about that brand except in the case of 'his' which is unfortunate :P

The underlining is pretty unobtrusive, I have seen far far worse!

No, if you disable it then you will never see it, however if someone who hasn't disabled it views your posts they will still see it.

Edit: damn i need to type quicker :p:(

Horrible addition to the forums. I know someone will be all like 'disable it in the options yo', but really.

One of the reasons why I like this forum so much is because it doesn't have spam like that.

I just turned it off. I can understand Neil's point about it, as it could be the start of a slippery slope, but I was assured by one of the Admins that it wouldn't get out of hand.
