Can you buy Sata cables that have a right angle on both ends so the one that plugs into a Mobo edge connector faces upwards but the one in the bay faces downwards?

If that made any sense. :D

I know you can buy cables with a Right Angle both ends but the listings do not say if the Sata notch makes the cable bend up or down.

The whole point in asking was so i don't have to waste time doing that as someone who has already bought cables with the correct up/down configuration that i'm asking for can give me the batch number of the cable.

further question on a similar topic....if you have a regular SATA III cable and put the right angle connection on the mobo SATA III port and the straight connector to the SSD, will it make any difference at all??

I only ask because the motherboard instructions tell you to put the right angled connector on the Drive / peripheral not the montherboard ?

Waste time looking at a photo which clearly shows the orientation of the cables and connectors? Are you stupid or what?:confused::confused:

they will all bend the same wat as the metal latch must fit on one side of the connector

If you put "sata down connector" and "sata up connector" in google image search you will see they bend different way depending what side the notch is placed and not all sites list if there sata cables are { up,up - down, down or up,down } though some mention that the sata cable is board stackable for edge connectors but this tends to be for cables that only have a right angle on one end and you can't go by low res photos that shops list ( and not all sites have any ) as they are mostly generic photos that are not of the actual cable.

Interesting point as i seem to remember reading before that you are not supposed to put sharp bends in Sata cables.

don't waste your time hunting around the shops as they often send something different than what is listed let alone what is in the photo as i've had everything from non-latched for latched to the wrong colour.best bet is to email Startech UK as they have every type of cable you can think of with part numbers so that way you can be sure to get the correct up and down type you need.

I think you just need left angled connectors rather than the more prevalent right angled connector (if I have read it correctly).
