No, I could see myself spending an obscene amount of time re-enacting The Day of The Jackal calibration scene in my back garden whilst yelling, "BOOM! Headshot!" over and over again.
A handgun is 'legal' if you have the correct licence.
A crossbow would still be classed as an offensive weapon if you were carrying it around on the street.
Not something we will see urban gangs carrying about any time soon I'm sure.

I used to happily walk through town with my bow, I think the five minutes setting the darn thing up would have given everybody time to get out of range, even the severely disabled, damn unsporting I reckon
Is there not a requirement to limit their speed? It could just be a field requirement but most paintball fields require paintball guns to be maxed at 300fps. It is illegal for them to be on full automatic but I suppose you don't have any issue with crossbows haha.
