Best game ending ever?

Knew that would get some attention. Yeah, I know. I must be the only person that liked it. Probably because it was the first game I properly got into and finished. It also took over 200 hours of my time (inc DLC).

Unnecessarily killing yourself instead of sending in a ghoul or mutant who are both immune to radiation is ridiculous. You could tell Bethesda were making it up as they went along and got to the end and were clueless as to how they should finish it.

Mafia 2 as above, was awesome!
MW1 & 2 I felt equally brilliant.
All Assassins Creeds were pretty good.

I'm not much of a 'best' kinda guy, the ending to Halo Reach was pretty good end to the best Halo game.

Not strictly an ending but I found the last level of Painkiller to be a work of genius in terms of vision and design (to avoid spoiling, it is basically an interpretation of Hell).

Freespace 2, making a mockery of many so-called "epic" endings, as though people don't even know the meaning of the word.

Oh, and Mr Salieri sends his regards, of course...

Original Mafia certainly had a hell of an ending, but to be fair I don't finish enough games to see the ending :p

Definitely Outrun, the original arcade version. It's a simple premise, you race through the countryside in an open top Ferrari with a beautiful (you imagine, because she's made of 12 pixels) blond bombshell and skid sideways through the finish line to the adulation of your concubine

Ahh, the good old days, when your imagination had to fill the blanks :)

I quite liked how FF13 (NOT 13-2!!!!) ended. Not the best ever sure, but pretty decent. Big fan of FFX too. FFIX was my favourite FF but a poor ending relative to the others i've played.
