ERMERGEHRD!!!

My breakfast has been a lie these past 3 months. Every morning I have one large heaped scoop of instant oats with breakfast, it seems I've been in long term DERP mode, thinking that a heaped scoop was at least 70g.

Something compelled me to actually look at the instant oats bag and low and behold.
1 scoop ~ 42g; with two large scoops being ~100g.

:( At least now I won't suffering from hunger pangs in an hour.

Just a compact scoop i.e. pushed against the side of the bag to get a full scoop.

I always put my shakers on the scales when putting anything in it. You'd be surprised how much each scoop varies.

I did that for about a year :/ :p

Why are you buying micros?

For the vast majority of people they are utterly pointless. They are only worth while if you are going hardcore oly lifting IMO but even then you probably won't need them.

Don't waste the money if they are for personally use.

Well, a couple 'might' help? With regards to sticking points I guess, but even then you can just attack the lift with the sticking point from another angle to advance in it.

Mate, surely two scoops is a lot closer to 80g than 100g?!

Not if I heap the hell out of it :D:D

It might actually just be easier for 2 and half scoops probably :p

I'm telling you mate, my back injury must have affected my head as well. I've been doing some pretty silly things without realising lately haha :D:p

one heaped scoop (pretty decent heap) is around the 70g mark. I weigh my morning shake and have 70g oats in it and have got to the point where i can heap up one scoop and its bang on 70g. So dont worry about it to much you probably have been on or around the 70g anyway.

Only in here could i ever imagine a conversation that goes...

a) OMFG would you look what a klutz i am?!?
b) Go On what? *Big grin*
a) What i THOUGHT was 70g? actually only 45g!!!! Can you imagine *raucous laughter*
b)*slaps thigh while bent double sharing the hilarity*

And people think we are wierd....

In my gym, the smallest weight is 1.25kg.

A mate told me to get these, so I can add 0.5kg to the bar and make progress.

You're a new starters to weights IIRC? You should be able to jump up in 1.25kg increments no problems, you only really need to start micro loading when you're really pushing your peak numbers and need something to help you push though. Even then there's other ways to do it without spending unneeded cash.

Boom!

I have just been asked to attend a meeting tonight at my local gym about becoming a sponsored model for a new supplement company that is launching in September.

should be interesting.
