Alienware m18x or m17x r4?

Was wondering, do you guys make use of laptop coolers? With a dual gpu laptop coming i am considering to get one. But then also as I don't intend to overlock it and I am thinking maybe I should not bother as it may make the unit look a bit ugly siting on one.

Repasted and replaced copper ramsinks on the contact plate with copper ones lol:

What can I say, mobile graphics cards at 1.05ghz get hot.

Just looked at your previous result and that is a huge jump in results. Got to love these new mobile gpu's, they really have made a huge leap in catching up desktop graphics cards.

Do you intend to overclock often meaker? Or dare may I say have a 24/7 oc running?

When did you guys make your order, so I get rough idea how long it may take for my one to come :)

Usually from outlet it is 1-2 weeks from order date to receiving from what I remember.

EDIY: Also did you guys receive your dell outlet purchases on the exact estimated delivery date or is there a chance it may come earlier. My one is now saying estimated 13th.

yeah mate, keep ur eye on the outlet and grab an mx17 r4 or sometimes an mx18 comes on for under a grand. need to be quick though.

Yeah it's been shipped. Hopefully Monday or Tuesday too. Can't bloody wait!

Just seen an m18x with dual 7970m on the outlet. Had my finger over the buy button for a second!

I dont think its worth the extra for that (assuming it was a good 3 or 400 more).

Mines in hinkly, so i guess its gonna be tomorrow, ours were probably shipping buddies :)

I was happy going for the 1600x900 screen as im sure it will run everything on full detail at that res, while the odd thing might struggle at 1080p, previous dell screens ive had have not looked that great scaling.

Just need to sell my macbook retina now if i can if i get on with the alienware, if its horrifically noisy id keep the macbook and send back the alienware.
