Ford Focus - which one?

Not a bad shout but if you don't do the miles you might want to consider a petrol as there is less to break on it compared to a modern diesel engine, which is a lot more complex.

I think the problem with run of the mill cars like this is that it's hard to get excited by them. This means that even though the cars that you've linked to are worth the money they are up at, most people here wouldn't spend £13k on one. They're much more likely to get a prestige brand, hot hatch or sports car with that amount of cash and not spend much more than £7K on a bog standard run around.

It'd annoy me loosing £3K in the next year on a bog standard Focus that you see about 50 of on your everyday commute. Thus my recommendation is to stop fixating on the number on the plate and spend £6K on a MK2 Facelift Titanium 2.0 Petrol Focus.

Had a look at the Skodas and although i like the look the Mrs is still hung up on the Skoda badge!

As for the Mondeo Sport, we have disocunted that and would prefer a Titanium or leaning more towards the Titanium X.

Speaking of which, we have fired off an email about the Mondeo we last.

A car the Mrs has found and likes the look of:

Aside from the cream interior, it look nice; thoughts welcome!

Best car you've linked to yet.

OK, spoke on the phone with them and they aren't prepared to budge at all on price, as they it is very competively priced:

http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/prices/used/ford/mondeo/hatchback-2007/49016/?yearplate=94

Looking at Parkers it is a good price, however:

2 owners from new and 25k miles.

What they have offered is £2800 part ex for mine, which is fair i think and they will fill the tank for me!

I am off for a look at it tomorrow and will most likely buy if i like it. What are people's thoughts?

PS Are they the correct tyres on the motor as they look v small on the pics?!

Nearly there!!

Yup, that's the facelifted version. Your 2006 Titanium X will be different to the 2010 Titanium X you linked to earlier. Yours is the older MK3 whereas the MK4 was introduced in 2007. The Titanium you linked to is the facelifted MK4 and certainly looks very nice but you will find that it only has cloth seats rather than leather or half leather. Also you mind want to find out if the Titanium has parking sensors as it's essential for a car this size in my opinion.

The mk4 mondeo was faclifted around 2010. So slightly different front, different rear light cluster, and the dash is slightly different too. So the black mk4 titanium X you linked to, is different to the 2010 titanium that you linked to.

The one i am interested in, one of the pics certainly looks 1/2 leather. Also the spec sheet states front and rear parking sensors.

So, what's the overall opinion? And also, is no one concerned about 2 owners and 25k miles?

Thanks guys, your opinions mean a lot!!

2 owners is most likely just a pre reg or demo car id think at that age

The car you're looking at isn't the facelift, the other one is - that's the model that will have cloth

Yeah, that's the Titanium X you are referring to which has the parking sensors and Alcantara seats as standard. The facelifted Titanium (Non X) one you linked doesn't state anywhere if it has those.

What about this:
