Andres Iniesta believes Alex Song would be a good addition to the Barcelona squad but is not sure whether the Arsenal midfielder will make the move to Camp Nou.

Iniesta has been an admirer of the player for some time and is pleased to see him linked with a summer switch to the Catalan club.

The Spaniard says Song, who has reportedly attracted the attention of a number of other clubs, is good enough to play for Barcelona.
Prodigy

"He's a prodigy," said Iniesta. "I don't know how many years he's been playing but he isn't a discovery from yesterday.

"He's a good player and I've seen in a couple of publications that he could be joining our team.

"I don't know if that would be the case but if he comes here we'll welcome him the best we can.

"If he comes here it's because he has the ability to play here, no doubt."

Iniesta rates Song, I guess he knows less than drunkenmaster... ;) :p

Shame to miss out on Moura but I'm saying that having watched him about 3 times. If it's 45m euros he better be bloody amazing! I have no idea what psg are doing with ffp? I assume their revenue streams the are a lot lower than in the UK but their spending has been crazy.

first game that comes to mind was the 3-2 vs qpr

So the last game of a 60 game season then?

tbf I dont think Lescott was great and certainly not worth what City paid but credit where it's due he didn't look out of his depth at City last season and certainly didn't look like a weak link

It makes you wonder if RVP had any intention to leave, or whether he made an empty threat to goad the higher-ups into making some signings. .

Maybe he was hoping that after his goals last year, that he'd get an offer from either RM/Barce?

I thought he said that if he ever left arsenal, then it would be to a different country anyway?

Indeed it is: http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11667/7971970/Moura-set-for-PSG-switch

While I'd have liked to have got him, as his potential is excellent, those kinds of prices are just crazy.

Chelsea got a bargain with Oscar.

Fail, i honestly dont even know why we bother trying to get these big name players any more.

It just makes us look bad when they sign for PSG instead of us:/ Or we just let the deal simmer away and then not buy because the team wants too much money, despite us surely having known that they wanted a wedge before we even under bidded the deal..

Platini is French of course PSG arent going to be kicked out by FFP.

IIRC his son has also been brokering a few of these transfers as well.

I am convinced these rules were put in place to stop just the English clubs stranglehold on the CL. Recent years we have had clubs in the semis and final every year?

Platini hasn't once spoke out against any clubs that I can remember apart from City and Chelsea etc

I was never a big fan of Lescott last season, but credit to him he played well last year. I'd not consider him a weak link, or a player that needs replacing really - him and Kompany seem to have a very solid partnership, and it would be silly to break that up.

For starters since when is Lucas Moura a big name? Like you love of Anderson you seem to be confused when it comes to players from exotic locations.

Secondly apart from the clubs where there is no limit to what they are able to spend (so Real, Chelsea, City & now PSG) name me one club where bargaining is not part of transfer dealings? No club ever goes in with their highest offer straight away, no club ever just pays what the selling club ask without some form of bargaining and from what I'm reading the problem (as was the case with Hazard) was not with Sao Paulo's demands but with Moura's agent

I think this why do we even bother trying to sign players is right up there with your Carrick's positional sense is nothing more than being in the right place at the right time :o

Yep, I don't know many clubs that don't have to negotiate with targets. Why haven't RM got Modric yet? Why didn't Chelsea buy Hulk?

Every team has to deal with budget and wage concerns and some are simply not willing to pay what they see to be extortionate prices. We may not have bought Moura either way. The club lost 10% of him on the 1st August so any transfer fee would have to rise to compensate the club.

I'm sure we will get in at least one more player that we need. Once we have done that and tied down Nani to a new 10 year deal we will be fine for the new season.

I think he become big potential player when us, inter, psg bid for him?

Its true no club leads with their highest bid but tell me how many big value players we've tried to buy only to lose out.

Im looking at ronaldinho, sneijder, hazard, Lucas, essien, benzema the list goes on.

And we end up with the also rans, kagawa or young, or carrick as you rightly say.

Not to say kagawa is no good. Infact you can see how godd he is compared to the rest of ourpplayers.

It's weird how clubs with more money and in nicer places in the world sometimes beat us to players isn't it?

I'm honestly amazed that we get as many top players as we do. I think over the coming years we could find it harder and harder as English club. Christ, I'm thinking about working somewhere nice at the moment after the horrendous "summer" we have had. The only thing keeping me going is the spanking we are giving Australia and France in the Olympics.

Yea its pretty wierd that nearly all of our big name negotiations lead to players moving elsewhere ... Like nasri, who didn't exactly move to monte carlo now did he?

Or alternatively not moving at all i.e sneijder.

The only big player we bought lately is berbatov and no one else wanted him . Not for 30 million lol.
