Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my current 6 year old system with around £550 to spend.

I need:
Motherboard
CPU + Cooler
GPU
RAM
Keyboard and Mouse (wireless)

Here is a quick spec I came up with. Can you improve it?

Krypton Z68 TURBO Intel Core i5 2500K 3.30GHz @ 4.00GHz Overclocked Bundle £305.98

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560Ti OC WindForce 2X 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £149.99

Logitech K350 Wireless Keyboard (920-002012) £46.99

Logitech Anywhere MX Mouse with Darkfield Technology (910-000873) £22.98

Overclockers Mug - 4.99

Total - £530

My current PSU is a Corsair VX 550W. Will this be ok or will it need upgrading?

Thanks

no the 2500k is last generation, not that last generation is bad by any means.
compared to the 3570k, ghz for ghz, the 3570k is 10-15% faster, and reaching a 4.4ghz oc is (relatively) easy on the 3570k, yes the 2500k may reach a higher overclock, but a 4.4ghz oc on a 3570k is more than sufficient (given its inherent advantages)

the z77 mobo has lucid mvp that takes advantage of the cpu's integrated graphics to boost fps, and the 3570k has a better igpu
iirc (lazy to check ;p) the z68 only has vanilla lucid (not mvp)

significant, probably not...an improvement, yes

gpu comparison (i know its not the 560ti or 7850, but its the equivalent when they are overclocked)

anandtech dont seem to have the 3570k to compare (either that or im blind, probably the latter)
if you compare, you're paying 306 quid for the preoverclocked bundle (with 4gb ram) vs 310 for the 3570k (with 8gb ram)
but you'll have to overclock it yourself
the majority of the extra you spend went to the gpu ;p

Cheers,

I've updated this a little bit. Aiming for £500 for mobo, cpu, ram, gpu and heatsink. I will stick with my current kb and mouse for now.

The True Spirit 120 is unfortunately unavailable.

The CNPS10X Extreme, Materhorn Pure, Hyper 212 evo, Gelid Tranquillo are alternatives, in order of higher performance to lower performance. Gelid would be the quietest. My pick would be the 212 evo or matterhorn depending on budget, good middle of the road, no-nonsense coolers.
