Which 128GB SSD Drive?

Just bought the Samsung 830 myself after asking the same question, and seems pretty quick so far. :)

Think I used to talk to you a while ago about our e5200s lol. We both had same P35C DS3R I think. My name was ad3ath or hedpe or somethin, can't remember which forum...

Also got a 830 now, but the 256GB. Still on same motherboard though so it's bottlenecked.

Samsung 830 for speed and reliability and also looks. Can't think of a single negative other than 'not quite as fast by about 5% as intels top drive'

any decent SATA-III drives priced at 50p per gig yet?

its possible to get a kingston 128gb v200 for 39p per gb
i had one delivered this morning  came with the newest firmware btw that fixed the bugs a lot of people were complaining about a few months back

Personally i'm thinking of getting the Crucial m4. I read a thread on here that said they had a Samsung 830 and when he tried to get support for it, Samsung UK said that Samsung US did support for ssd for Samsung US said it was UK.

Any got a Samsung 830 and been able to get support for it?

those are sata-2 tho aren't they... 300mb read and 150mb write is a bit low these days.

sata 3 but yea 300/190

im getting 284.4 / 203.8 in crystalmark

cant complain for 39p per gb , its almost half the price of a samsung 830 /crucial m4.

according to what i see in crystal mark
crucial m4 128gb
410/189

samsung 830
483/318

i doubt you can actually tell the difference in the real world as everything loads up instantly anyway an 10th of a second isnt going to be noticeable

about the v200 bugs... quickly reading some reviews some people were finding the v200 slower than their normal mechanical disk... that's some bugs it must have had ;)

think i'll wait some more tbh ;) I really don't care about the time programs take to load anyhow. plus I never shut my computer down...

another sale on the 830 might tempt me to splash some cash tho... trouble is when I buy one I really do want to be blown away so I can justify the cash... getting a "slow" ssd might be have the required effect ;)

theres a cashback deal on the samsung coming soon,15/8 i think it starts

only on the 256gb/512gb drives, which are *way* out of my price range. £60-£70 for a 128gb is the limit.

all those bugs were fixed with a firmware update which my ssd already had.

no freezes , pauses and everything is uber fast and smooth.

your choice though :)

you will be blown away anyway if you have never had an ssd before , just installed 89 windows updates in less time than it takes to install one on a mechanical hdd lol.
