Main Dealer Return Policy?

I really do wonder what goes on in some people's heads at times......evidently not much in this instance lol :D

I can't understand spending £16,250 on something and not being 100% sure that it's exactly what I want. At that price i'd be completely convinced that i'm making the right decision before committing my signature to anything.

Still, I live with a woman so I have experience of the train of thought. Mine also wants a car that is "new" and "pretty".

Just... wow.

Does she not realise that a new 123d would be about 10k more than she actually paid? Surely the fact it's not brand new is negated by that?

Admittedly the lack of iDrive would be a big deal breaker for me.

..and she has put it up for sale privately for the same price that she got it from a used approved dealer for?

How is she going to have any hope of that coming off?

This is a person that bought a used car and wants to return it because it's used, do you think this person is going to employ any sort of logic in this situation? :p

Sounds awful silly of the dealer though for a used car, I assume she hasn't had long, surely they can do a better deal than making her lose £2k especially as they're a BMW dealer that should care more about brand than perhaps other dealers should.

I wouldn't think it would be unreasonable of them if they were to take it back but essentially charge here a hiring fee for the car for when she had it so maybe £200-300 quid hit, for a week or 2. And I'd probably expect them to make the refund 'credit' to be spent with them so it wouldn't really hurt them.

Instead the clever salespeople seem to think it's a good idea to probably make said person and friends / family not use dealer and so on as it spreads by not doing a change they'd probably still profit from and come off looking good and helpful.

Just to bump this.....the car got stolen off her drive last week!! No broken glass or alarms going off makes me think its to do with BMW's massive flaw in the alarm system that has seen newer generation BMW thefts on the rise.
Unsuprisingly she isn't that fussed that its gone.

No she's not that sort of person; just a huge coincidence that this happened. She has CCTV footage of it being stolen too and you can see exactly how they broke in. Less than 2 minutes.

I'm not going to ask her to upload it or send it to me. Most likely it was done through the way most BMW's have been nicked recently.

Wow.

She's got to be the only BMW driver to be thankful the thieves have taken her car.

Still, now is when the insurance offer her £12k ;)
