3DS outsells all sony devices combined...

Sony is ran incredibly poorly even by Eastern standards. I doubt they will be around for Playstation 5. They haven't made any profit in four years! I have no words for the Vita debacle, it's just a nightmarish shambles.
 
It's a shame really. I can't help but think if Sony started work on a touch screen portable console way back when the DS Lite was announced, things might of been very different.

There's nothing wrong with the console though, perhaps it is slightly too expensive at the moment for the majority of people, when the games arrive the sales will increase though, I'm sure of it. Particularly Monster Hunter.

Definitely nothing wrong with the console, it's hardware is great and it has so much potential to kill the 3DS, easily. I'm just not sure about future game releases and Sony's commitment to the platform.

As soon as we get a few quality games the sales will pick up, I imagine it will sell like hot cakes in Japan as soon as a Monster Hunter title is released. It's very optimistic to hint at a Gran Turismo game, but even if they packed 3 & 4 into a HD Collection that may be enough to shift a few systems too. Other than that I guess we'll have to wait for whatever else is on the horizon game wise, it'll be interesting to see how the Call of Duty game turns out.

Honestly don't see a Monster Hunter happening on Vita, they seem to be firmly on the 3DS.

Doesn't help Sony's case that games like Jet Set Radio is coming out a month later on Vita compared to PC, 360 and PS3.
 
Too many games which are also on other platforms. They needs games exclusively released for the Vita. Give customers a reason to buy a Vita to play X game.
 
Look at how bad the 3DS was doing in the same period that the Vita has been out. As soon as a cluster of decent titles are released for the device sales are bound to pick up.

The big difference is Nintendo publicly stated there was a problem and had plans to remedy them, Sony are still basically saying nothing, if they don't drop the price of Vita before the holiday period in America then they have no chance.

We can't write the Vita off after only a handful of months, there are three big games coming out this year and I'm sure we'll see some sort of price reduction or competitively priced bundles. Just because Sony haven't publically said the Vita isn't doing as well as they'd hoped doesn't mean they're denying it internally.

if they can't reduce the price on the console what about cutting the price on the memory cards and other accessories?

Memory cards are just a way for them to claw back some of their losses. Don't count on them reducing the cost of them while the console is still at its current price.....or is that just wishful thinking :D?
