Guild Wars 2

i have only took part in one of the betas as i dnt want to spoil it by doing what i want and getting the feel early. i like to go into a game and not have a clue what i am doing lol. i am excited about this game and have a rough idea of what class/race i would like to do.

is there a certain class that you will see **** loads of, what do you guys think will be the most popular class/race. and would like to know wat class you guys are goin to play and why :)

That build works for any prof, my main is a monk also, so with that I was a Monk/Assassin. The first 4 skills are as it shows then you can pick what ever you want for the other 4. The Necro's are your main 3 hero's, you call the target with Assassin's Promise and they nuke it down with ease with Discord.

Think it will be the same in most mmo, Ranger, Warriors, Guardians, and most likely in that order, tho warriors may end up being most played as first toon, but after a while most things level out.

It's bad isn't it?

I don't get excited about game releases anymore and usually wait until things are bargain bucket but this...i love MMO's...I'm le sehr excited!

I think I'm going to go Norn now after being dead set on Sylvari. I love Nordic lore so this is right up my street and i'll probably end up with a warrior or thief. My only problem with ever rolling a melee class is that there is never any of the crazy spells with awesome particle effects that the caster classes have.

I know it's bad, I'm playing with the talent calculator rather than other games all the time these days :p

I can't decide on a race as well as a class. Probably Asura or Human as I liked the Asura and the human zones seemed good, to be honest though I have no idea :p
 
Do you think i will need a CPU upgrade to max this game?

You'll be fine to play it at maximum settings, although your frame rate may not be stellar, but a steady 25-35 fps should be possible. If you intend on playing competitive pvp though you may wish to consider an upgrade or playing at low/medium settings for the smoothest possible game play.
 
wow been playing with the character builder theres a lot to choose from! getting quite lost havent really looked into the classes and abilities very much (at all) im extremly hyped about this game im pretty much a complete noob at mmo's but looking forward too it.

thinking of going necro(love the heatlh drains inflictions just seems so evil..) or mesmer do fancy ranger though hmmmm

ive done a little build for the necro and mesmer would appreciate it if some of the people on here that know what they are doing with builds(not me) just to rip it apart or give me some (FRIENDLY) advice (trolls need not apply).

That's the build I intend on playing, should look awesome with my hall of monuments weapons ;)

Not bothered with spvp, wvw and pve are my thing

I actually played around with this build a bit at level 80 in the mists, the 33% chance to give vulnerability and bleeding procs loads with 40%+ crit chance, I wasnt unusual to see 10+ stacks of each after a matter of seconds.

Equally as important it appears to be missing trait point spend?!

Edit: It looks like you're going for a condition based dps spec, so avoid spending traits in death magic. Curses and Blood are your best trait lines, increasing condition length and inflicting more. Blood magic enables you to boost the ally revival signet effectiveness too.

For your other weapon set I would consider picking something with skills that combo off of fields. Your current selection has several combo field setups, but you've got no combo field finishers, no jumps, no whirls.. I'm not sure if other necro sets have these?

Get more chance to have a play with a D/D Elementalist.. I want to try and make a DPS/Support spec using that weaponset, as I think the healing from the MH dagger water abilities is quite good. I know the normal D/D spec is to go for all out burst, but I like to be different. :p
 
It's nice to see that so many people are having a hard time deciding what they want to play this game as, hopefully it will lead to a fairly equal amount of each class in each race.

I'm either going to go with Charr elementalist of Norn Warrior, played a BWE through as both and enjoyed both equally in both PvE and PvP, although never had a go at WvW as I got fed up of waiting!

I've also applied to join up with the Immortals once this goes live, I've got over 3k hours logged with GW1 (upto a few years ago!) most of which was played through solo or in Random Arenas, so hopefully this'll be a much better way to experience the game.

Staff gives good support/healing skills especially from water spec.
