Guild Wars 2

I can't create a character?

When I go to make one it just says "Norn" with some text at the bottom, but the screen behind is black. If I press forward a couple of times I can see the character, but only Warrior and Elementalist work, the rest don't show anything.

Any idea?

Was really enjoying my warrior with a rifle! haha!

EDIT - If these stress tests are anything to go by i think the launch may go pretty smooth!
 
Well I had great fun :D

Played thief and I enjoyed it a lot though being in melee all the time is tough. Toss up between that and Engi I'm pretty certain now.

They must be updating the starter zones from earlier beta events as I kept getting in quite long chains that were never there is earlier beta. Completed some event in ther Charr starter area, then this let me lead some engineer bloke around guarding him, which led to a ******* huuuuuuge battle with some ghosts at the top of this cliff. Was amazing :D We all then charged through the pass (about 15 of us) and about 3 more unrelated events started up and worked my way through them. Went from level 2 to level 5 in about 45mins without even realising I was having that much fun. :)

I love this game! Roll on release :D:D:D
 
Just me or level difference plays a huge part? Was kinda just following 'My Story', got level 8 and found myself vs level 14 mobs being raped by packs of three :p Could kill 'em one by one but still

Note that it defaults to medium shadow even if the option says 'none' or w/e after each reload so you have to set it to something else than back to what you want. Hope that little doozy is fixed for release :D
 
Good fun, though Im still barely nearer to choosing a profession or race!
Performance is still surprisingly good for my system when questing, 50+ FPS but this drops hugely to 10-15 in WvWvW no matter what settings I use (max or lowest, 1-2fps difference so i guess even a 6870 can handle GW2 graphics wise). Will have to up my RAM to 8GB for launch, and then look at retiring my trusty 720 Phenom at some point in the near future.
 
Noticed a lot of the work in progress icons have been removed from the cutscenes. Performance was excellent maxed out (Bar shadows on medium)

Tried the thief also and enjoyed it! Although now i'm totally torn between thief or Warrior as my main, sigh. Single target dps on the thief is pretty insane, but the lack of variety of weapons is the only thing putting me off, surely they should be able to use axes at least. And no sword allowed in off hand unless i was being silly?

Other than that quite an enjoyable hour. :)

how where you getting in before?!

well first play of gw2 today in this 1 hour stress test what can i say im very pleased i have purchased the game its brilliant the visuals are lovely,love the free form style of the game how you get pulled into doing other quests that get plonked infront of you from nowere with big groups,everything is incredibly slick espically on the character making screen cant believe how polished it is.

very happy can see me sinking a lot of time into this game!!!:D

tried the necro quite enjoyed it will have to try some other professions too though i think to get the feel.
