I'm just not sure what there is to feel proud about. Anyone with enough money and time could put on an olympics game, as has been proved.
The athletes who have put time and effort into their fields have done so themselves, it has nothing to do with me.

I thought it was an OK spectacle overall (though I think this finale has been pretty awesome) but watching a bunch of people run 10k? No, that doesn't fill me with pride in the slightest nor do I understand why it would.

You don't feel any pride in an entire nation getting behind a select few individuals and teams to push them selves to be the best in the world?

I fear the whole point of the Olympics may be lost on you.

The relationship with the Olympics is a bit weird. I don't think the IOC really recognises the Paralympics as such.
