Any paticular reason why the S2000 is so high on insurance? High crash rate? What's the deal?
More at risk in that car.
iirc its group 20 (in old money). Whereas the RX8 is only 16/17 iirc

Group's a abit irrelevant... I've insured other cars in the same group for 1/3 fo the money.
Stats are per individual car now, I believe.
True. However, I'm sure an RX8 would cost you less to insure than the s2k.
Oh heck yes! I ended up buying an RX8 instead of an S2000 because of the insurance cost.
S2K = £3.5k
RX8 = £750
... mad jump!
pft. least you were given a quote for the honda. I was around 24 at the time so I guess the people i spoke to thought I was a little too young... Who knows.
RX8 was a decent substitute though
Ah, ouch
Well, won't be for a while yet, so maybe they will come down a little? lol.
Either way, for me, the S2000 looks the best asthetically.
I'm 24... with a non-fault accident & two speeding tickets... cheapest quote was through the evil that is admiral... think about 30-40 insurers quoted me - surprised you couldn't even get a quote!
If the insurance is silly (I pay in one go), then I might consider something else and use the extra money to 'upgrade' the alternative car. Would this be a better idea?

Does the next car have to be rwd?
Depends on just how much the insurance is for you - get some quotes from comparison websites. S2000s are definitely worth a premium over other cars in my eyes... but not to the premium of £3.5k! I'd settle for just under £2k.
RWD is the only correct drivetrain![]()
IF the budget allows it. Id say why not look up the integra dc5![]()
