Ill probably just leave it as it is then, happy enough with the performance in games. Ill be adding a second shortly. Just hope im lucky enough to get one that'll clock as well as this one.

That happens to me. You may get one lucky run with the mem that high, then the fps tanks mate. It's random as hell. Honestly I think there's something in the nvidia drivers detecting it and throttling something. I noticed it wasn't the core clock or mem clock. I couldn't explain the drop.
 
Yeah man same! There must be something in there throttling definitely, I'm getting half way through the run with blistering FPS then I'm suddenly dropping to 40-50fps and my power usage goes from 98 - 80. No drops elsewhere... I'm absolutely gutted I can't get this to run through to get on the board.

My temps aren't going over 60 either. :(

edit// yup can't even hit over 55 fps now. Gutted.

My temps were fine too. I only ever managed one run with my memory above +630 before I witnessed this. I'll get 80-90 fps at the start of the run when everything's fine, but that drops to 40~ when the mem is too high.

I don't monitor power, just set it to 300% and forget it exists lol. Hmm.. May try lowering it.
 
How annoying -.-

It was all running fine, then my power hit 78% and the frames start dropping. The card is getting enough juice, it's as if it's not wanting the juice though.

Well I managed to get 5th on air with my 7970 windforce, at 4.7 ghz i5 2500k I'd like to know which ones above me were water cooled.
