3 years of a fit RVP at the top of his game/career is worth a hell of a lot more than £20 million.

Injuries are a big factor, Arsenal do seem to be very prone to these however...

Personally I hope he goes:

Stays at Arsenal - Win's nothing (a distinct possibility).

Goes to City - Win's stuff but doesn't play all the games and is not the focal point of the team that his ego desires!

Goes to Man UTD - Win's stuff, is the focal point (along side Rooney..) and is loved worldwide.

Yeah, when you consider £35m for an unproven 19 year old and £35m for Carroll, £24m for RVP is a relative snip.

Pointless moaning about it now tbh.

I'm with you all the way on wanting centre mid sorted first and foremost, but knowing Fergie our options may well have been RvP or nothing. We can always live in hope the Lucas money isn't being used here and they do still have other targets, not very realistic I know :p.

Rumours have just surfaced that Arsenal have said Song can leave too, just rumours though.

I imagine they'll bring another player or two in.
 
lol well done arsenal truely putting levy to shame in the negotiation and profit stakes.

a £70m investment isn't all bad if it topples city, but if it doesn't, it's a sign of the times of a high price for 2nd or even 3rd (with chelsea's spending) place.
 
The rvp signing at 24m will not be the worst signing SAF has made. I'm very excited about utds prospects this season.

Yeah we need a midfielder but if the rumours are true then there maybe another signing on the horizon.
