how are people getting the wage figure, was he promised the same wage as rooney?

ferguson and a lot of united fans saying there's no value in the market and then doing this is a little funny. especially when it's not an area they are problematic in and have a £30m striker who's been on the bench for a season.

could be ferguson's final master move or it could be what he's remembered for if city dominate.

We can only hope he does a Torres

Must be awful for Arsenal fans, at least there has been some time to sink in.

No way those wages are true

Agreed, hopefully he will get injured because that makes Manu firm favs this year by a margin if he performs at 3/4's of what they got from him last year.

I haven't seen his wages reported anywhere? He's not definitely on £220k per week, people are just assuming that aren't they?

If he stays fit you still won't have the best strike force in the league, RVP is as good as Aguero, Rooney is not as good as Tevez, Welbeck/Hernandez aren't a patch on Balotelli, nor if he stays, Dzeko. City at the moment without selling have 5 absolutely top strikers, Utd, with RVP, have two. Even if/when City manage to sell 2 of them, they'll have a better strike force.

According to last season's stats, we have the two most prolific strikers in the league. It's pointless speculating on how many goals Tevez could have got if he'd not wandered off to Argentina, and Aguero may in your opinion be a better striker, but he didn't score as many goals as RvP or Rooney...

i wouldn't want to see RVP or any player get injured but i don't believe that even if he stays fit, it makes them favourites as a game is about defending just as much as it is scoring. however, if RVP and rooney connect, they could start walloping them in.

Aguero didn't score as many because it was his first season and there's more than one player who scores A good amount of goals compared to utd and Arsenal.

Arsenal have just had manus pants down tbh.

not if he helps with title(s) , which he never did at Arsenal lol

It's a lot of money but at least all the **** can stop now about Utd Needing to compete with Chelsea and City

A CM would be fab but it could also be argued that with two out of Kagawa, Rooney and RvP (and two wide players ) on each starting sheet, an athletic player like Cleverley or Carrick or Jones when back fit wouldn't be so bad lol
(although it kinda screws chicharito and welbeck)

At least the RVP saga won't be hanging over us all season, Giroud and Podolski are more than capable of putting it in the net and we can all move on. Plus the money will all but pay for both of those players transfer fees.

I hope Van Persie has a shocker and spends the rest of his career in mediocrity.

There is simply no excuse for the way he has conducted himself recently and what he has done to Arsenal. All those years paying him when he was on the treatment table and in the dock and now this.

He is a scumbag.

Dont cry hater :p

I can only assume this means that Berbatov is definitely going to go this summer. He couldn't get a game when Welbeck and Hernandez were there, let alone with RvP there now as well.

Indeed. :/

Yeah, what happens to those two, now? And Berba? Berba to Spurs? Will Welbeck be content with cup games/sub appearances?

I imagine Welbeck and Hernandez will be heavily rotated.

I hope Berbatov goes and gets a good deal, I love him but he's just being effectively ignored by Fergie and I don't like that. I hope a decent club come in for him.

Man I'm disappointed by the RVP news :( Knew it was going to happen but why oh why couldn't he have just gone to Juve instead!

Hopefully we will sign more before the window closes.

Amazing amount of bitterness over us getting RVP, I guess the majority really didn't think it would happen and now it has it's taken everyone by surprise. Quite embarrassing really, dont remember all this hate when City signed Nasri last summer, or Chelsea signed Torres, wonder why that is......

Personally I'm over the moon, when you consider we signed Young last summer for 17m and he was in the final year of his contract getting one of the best strikers in the world for just 24m in similar circumstances by comparison is a pretty good deal. Yes he'll spend a lot of the time injured but when he is fit he could be the difference.

Oh and just as Rooney isn't on 250k a week/month whatever it is, nor is RVP on 220k but dont let that get in the way of things :)

Dont cry hater :p

:D

You can't blame them, most people hate this mercenary culture of footballers. The same thing happened when rooney questioned uniteds ambition. People on here hated him only to love him again when he said he would never have gone to city.

I hate it when players do it and it's not even my club. I couldn't knock Arteta going for ambition because he left for less per week :D

Anyway it's a formidable pairing if they gel, as good as they have ever had in the premiership.
