It's a weird signing tbh, 29 year old who has a long history with injuries. I thought he was rubbish at the euro's.

Has had 1 extremely good year and others where he was injury prone.

Man U would have been better of spending that amount of money on a guy like Martinez, or any other decent midfielder around (not hard to find plenty who are better than the dross served up in that United midfield)

Fergie talks about the market going crazy with 19 year olds going for £35m, when he's out there signing an injury prone 29 year old? When he already has a another £30m+ Berbatov sitting on the bench.

Talk about a man who has lost the plot with some of crap he has come up with these past few days.

Well I will be honest and never thought it would happen but looks like it has. I don't see any injury issues. Personally I think you have bought the best striker in the epl (with left foot) he is ok with his right lol

Good deal for arsenal too. Never thought we would get £24m for him but well down Wenger for keeping to your price.

Shame Wenger didn't spend his money last year like he has this year as we might have kept him but oh well.

Now please go and spend that money on someone great.

Amazing amount of bitterness over us getting RVP, I guess the majority really didn't think it would happen and now it has it's taken everyone by surprise. Quite embarrassing really, dont remember all this hate when City signed Nasri last summer, or Chelsea signed Torres, wonder why that is......

I can understand Arsenal fans being annoyed but he's conducted himself well and they've got a fairly good deal out of it.

Words like 'scum' should be reserved for the likes of Tevez, surely.

Personally I'm over the moon, when you consider we signed Young last summer for 17m and he was in the final year of his contract getting one of the best strikers in the world for just 24m in similar circumstances by comparison is a pretty good deal. Yes he'll spend a lot of the time injured but when he is fit he could be the difference.

3-4 good years out of him, worth it without question.

Oh and just as Rooney isn't on 250k a week/month whatever it is, nor is RVP on 220k but dont let that get in the way of things :)

Quite right, I don't think anyone knows what they're on, as people have pointed out before. They also can't even remotely have a clue what RvP is on as that hasn't been finalised yet.

Already wondering whether Fergie will confirm that's our spending done now or whether they'll be one more....

Im with this guy.

Fergie needs to realise he is a market maker. Paying 30 for a young rooney or 30 for a berbatov helps to change the shape of the market. By playing the market so i.e spending ridiculous amounts or changing ridiculous fees he too has had a hand in distorting the market he is blaming.

what you said is opinion mate sorry, bit of a vindictive tone as well. RVP will be in the arsenal side this saturday, if he leaves arsenal it will be on a free next summer. also do you understand the idea that AW has said there are no negotiations taking place? The rejected man u bid was ages ago it's all twitter feed...

LOL

Real would have gone for Dembele if they didn't get Modric (probably happening now?). Hopefully Utd don't come in for him now :p

I hope we do, I doubt it though :(

He's also in the final year of his contract though isn't he?

glad the saga is finally over, really thought he'd end up at juventus tbh.

have to hand it to wenger he has one hell of a business brain.

24 mill for a 29 year old injury prone striker with less than a year on his contract left if amazing business financially.

giroud better step up :D

Yep, that's why I can see Utd going for him. It'd take £12-15m to get him away from us though, as he's our most important player. Fulham could lose both Dempsey/Dembele :(
