Loads of fans are bitter about 90% of the players that leave, RVP has been consistenly one of our best players since he joined. If anything its our medical staff that have let him down very badly, he's only had two sub 30 game seasons in 8 years, and those were 25/26 games, and even in one of his worst seasons started 14 league games, scored 8 or 9, got 7 assists, when he did play he made a huge difference, far more important than having a crap player available every game, he's also in the past 4 years put in 2 55+ game seasons, both of which were high scoring and he was brilliant for us.

He was our best player, we decided not to change the fundamental issues with the club, he said he wasn't going to sign a new contract, no hissy fit, no problems, no public recriminations of what they are doing wrong, who should go, naming players who shouldn't be at Arsenal. Another team bought him, I don't much care who, he has every right to move on, he wouldn't of if Arsenal were actually competitive for something other than getting 4th in the league. Being in the champs league is nothing short of a money thing, Arsenal(board/Wenger) are desparate for the CL to get the money, the fans, and the players want to win the damn thing, or have a real chance. The board are content with 4th and Wenger in charge, players that want to win things aren't.

If we'd won the league while he was with us he'd have almost certainly left for another league, we failed and its his biggest career goal. I'd like to have not sold him to Utd, but right now we aren't in a position to beat them or win the league, so it doesn't make a huge amount of difference anyway.

Oh jog on the lot of you. If this was happening to your club every year you would feel the same.

I'm incensed to the max and I dont even support Arsenal. God knows what the fans must feel. Heart wrenched.

No, you jog on, you're the one with the vile opinion that because a player doesn't want to play for another club he should be physically harmed.

Utd fans were disappointed when Ronaldo left, and he was something far more special than RVP, age and ability taken into account, but we realised he wanted to go, and they wished him the best.

Horrible opinions.

I'm just sick of modern day football. It's nothing but a greed fest. All about filling pockets rather than trophy cabinets. Man U won't win anything this season. They might have RVP and Rooney, but still roll out the likes of Carrick, Scholes and Giggs in midfield. Vidic can't stay fit and Ferdinand's a liability.

And to be honest, I don't actually want him injured. I just hope he fails dismally. Surely that's allowed.

So you don't even support Arsenal yet you're trotting out this garbage and getting all upset about it?

How bizarre.

Gutted to see him go to Utd. Unfortunately this puts him in with the Ashley Cole and Nasris of this world.

However if we really did get that much money for a 29 year old in the last year of his contract, with an injury record that could give Darren Anderton a run for his money, then that eases the pain considerably.

What?

Since when couldn't Vidic 'stay fit'? He had a terrible injury and has recovered well it seems so far and hasn't had any niggles to hold him back. He hasn't ever had problems with 'staying fit' before, he just had an unfortunate injury that kept him out for a long period of time.

And the other bit, really? Oh dear.

If RvP wanted to fill his pockets I'm sure he could have left Arsenal long ago.

Definitely KKD.

Stop chucking personal insults at me. I'm not insulting any of you, don't do it to me. Comprende?

I haven't, but I'm sure you'll still ignore what I've said anyway.

Anywho, in about 4 minutes this will all be deleted as to get back on topic so lets all forget it and move on.

This RVP transfer really has brought out two of the very worst posters I've seen in the SA.

Bring back cheets over these lot

Rumours now that Wenger's wading into the Lorente market.

If he signed Lorente and M'Vila then things would look a lot rosier. But it wont happen. I reckon stupid Stan has ordered the sales of RVP and Song to get his money back on the new signings.

Decent bit of business (yet again) for Arsenal if you look at it in pure financial terms - sign a player at 21 for 2.75 million, play him for 8 years assisting with 8 consecutive CL qualifications and then sell him at 29 for a 20 million quid profit - not bad at all..

It is difficult to see a way forward for Arsenal when you have Chelsea and City being run by mega-billionaires and Utd as a commercial behemoth, the introduction of City in particular has made it that much harder for a well-run club to be competitive in terms of signing players and challenging for titles. Arsenal could spend 100 million this transfer window, clear out all their dross and they would still not really be any more guaranteed a title win, maybe they'd be more competitive to get 3rd place again, so for a club aiming to run on an even keel based on footballing revenue alone then in the absence of FFP actually having an effect (lol I'm not holding my breath) then probably CL qualification is the appropriate target for the club, as it has been over the last decade or so.

Give him a break. He's ****ed off with Van Persie and it's his rage talking. He said one thing that's true, had it been another club and their player, you'd get fans from that team saying the same.
