See since moving to the PC version of Battlejimmies, I've always thought that the turret speed should be limited to a max speed. Some people just whack the sensitivity up really high and they become a bit overpowered.

Connection/ping in bf3.

How much difference does a decent connection make in this game. Im currently on bt broadband, option 3 upto 8mb, (rarely go's over 4mb). In game ping of 70 average, against lower ping players i seem to suffer far worse hit detection than normal. Often shooting first but ending up dying first. I had a brief play of the game one night on my nephews 80mb infinity connection, the difference was night and day.

Yep having decent connection does help a lot! Was on some US server last night and the reg was so good and I had 90ping! Must have been a east coast server!

anyone else think the 4 AK maps arent enough?

the base game maps are quite shocking and i only play 4 out of the 9 maps (not including B2K maps) and after 10 months have become really stale.

cant see me playing for long with just 4 maps.

I dont mind as long as theyre big maps with widely spaced capture points. The current maps have objectives too close together. And as for metro, seine crossing, bazzar. Theyre dire, more like cod maps tbh. Even bfbc2 had better maps, harvest day and heavy metal being two good examples.

I'll be changing our server to AK for a week or so after launch then probably introducing Caspian, Kharg, Op Firestorm, Gulf of Oman and maybe Nosehair back into the rotation. Big vehicle maps!

What is your server MissChief? Id like a good server that uses the large scale maps. All too often ill go on a server and they just repeat the likes of metro. It's a terrible conquest map.

I think that proves that your ping doesnt matter !!

BF3 has "console derp" client side hit detection, which means in theory having a slightly higher ping doesn't matter.

If you're shooting first and dieing, then consider what weapon you were using, what situation you were in (ie was the other person standing still while you were moving) and also consider who is or isn't supressed.

There are lots of gameplay mechanics in BF3 that means it rarely matters who shoots first, unless you're stood toe to tow with somebody in a spaghetti western show down or something.
