Alienware m18x or m17x r4?

R4's go very quick so just a matter of luck as no one can predict when dell put them on there...unless your updating the page every 2 seconds 24 hrs a day :D

Somedays you see 1 or 2 on there if your lucky and then you wont see any for a while...its mostly m17 r3 and m18's as they are last years models and have surplus...R4's only came out a few months ago so you wont see many on the outlet yet?

I know what you mean. Been waiting for ages but just can't get on at the right times, for example today I'll be out of the office from 1pm onwards. Just hope the website loads on my phone and I have enough signal.

It isn't luck and we do predict it with near perfect accuracy.

Be ready for 14:15 and by 14:18 the update will have occurred and if you are quick enough you will update your list and see all the new laptops and then it's a matter of getting one in your basket as quickly as possible.

You can even try to force the update in that 3 minute window but I keep that to myself. :p

There are shortcuts too like being able to view only the laptop you're interested in even when it isn't shown in the list of selectable laptops. I would list the links if I had them but I don't buy from the outlet much recently so I haven't an up-to-date list.
 
I see all the laptops come on at 2:18 however nothing decent :(

STR - do they just make one update at around 2:15 or do they keep updating all afternoon?

Just one update per week day and nothing at the weekend. There has been rare update occurrences like during the middle of the night but 99% of the year it's at the time stated.

Some days are better than others. Last Friday it jumped from 35 laptops to well over 100 after the update and there were lots of the newer models like the 17R 5720 and 7720 (they were what I was after).

Oh and also it's obvious that people keep laptops in their basket for a LONG time and that's why occasionally the stock increases later on. Those doing it either can't keep them in their basket any longer due to not being at the computer or a glitch occurs causing them not to be able to refresh their basket in time to keep them in. This used to be the case especially with the L702x 3D laptops but not so much these days.

I specced up an 1800 quid laptop and the contact from that thread got it to 1600. Good, but considering it was the m17x with 7970m I though I would loiter on the outlet for a couple of weeks.
 
Tbh i just think the guy on the thread that keeps promoting 'his man' is on commission himself. When i called last year his rep cldnt even match my price when i used a voucher from dmxdimension, let alone beat it :|
 
Tbh...probably too many people interested in the outlet to make it worth while anymore....and to that all ofthe script kiddies screwing with the system and no ones got a chance...the only way to bring it back to its original status would be for Dell to deal with phone only customers (and be more flexible with upgrades) ....otherwise the next time an m17r4 with 7970 comes up and isn't snapped up quick it will be too late...they will have already released the r5!...after 4 weeks of trying, thinking of playing by their rules :-(
 
Looked yesterday when they all got loaded on but no r4.

Will be difficult to get one now and I've got till October to get it!
 
There were r4's at 2.15 yesterday with hd7970's,but they were gone in around 1/10th of a second lol
I clicked on one but no go,already taken,had the same several times now,might have done me a fav as I'm leaning towards a new desktop now.
