It sounds like Berbatov may be about to agree a deal with Zenit (nothing concrete on that though, just Metro), I think RvP will get number 9 and that will be confirmed later on.

It makes no sense to give him, for example, number 31, then next week we sell Berbatov and the number 9 shirt goes unused.

Completely agree - they must be offering him mega wages, or have a silly clause in his contract to let him leave in a year if a top 4 club wants him or something

The interview with him has us making him a key player (which is somewhere around 35-40k a week, doubling his old wage). Probably a massive signing on bonus but there's no chance of a "top club release clause" the chairman isn't a mug ;)

I won't believe we have him till the official site updates but this is more exciting than rvp!!!! :D

It does look odd seeing him in a utd shirt.

I do like the photo of him signing one sheet of paper. In reality there have been hundreds of pages that have been read and scrutinized by agents and lawyers and at the end just one line to sign :p

I posted the Ramirez news yesterday but no one said anything, too busy tracking RvP to Bridgewater :p

I can't wait to see him in the Prem.

I believe that shirt numbers have to be confirmed by today or something do they not?

This year players training kit numbers have matched their squad numbers, so I imagine he could well be 31.

Not that it really matters anyway.

Depends on who gets penalty duty, personally though I do think that should go to RVP, never feel confident when Rooney steps up

Ok minus penalties RVP should outscore Rooney in a games to goals ratio ;)

Don't see the fuss over shirt numbers, who ****ing cares? Pick any old number and get on with it :D

If I was a City fan I'd be more worried about the Scholes-RvP partnership than the Rooney-RvP one.

Rooney will obviously be a key part of it but Scholes is the one that will do the damage with a proper clinical finisher.

West Ham are to make a bid for Adam Johnson today according to a reporter on Twitter. If they are willing to offer 9.5m for Jarvis i expect at least the same.

Would be good business for us and him. He gets to play every game and we get rid of a player who performs at 60% every game and constantly complains rather than knuckling down and earning a spot like you have to in our team.

We use the money from West Ham and buy Sinclair. Simples. :D

Why would you expect the same, City want rid of Johnson, Wolves don't want rid of Jarvis.

If a player is realistically worth 5mil, then a club is desparate to keep him and doesn't need the money, then it usually takes above his worth to buy him, if a player is worth 5mil and a club is desparate to get rid of them and doesn't in any way need the money, you'll be lucky to get the 5mil.

Also Jarvis would be currently on a fairly low wage, while Johnson will be on a wage that is way above what he deserves, look at Ade and Spurs, the main issue is he is currently on a wage that he doesn't deserve and so won't move elsewhere unless he won't lose out on a penny.

Johnson could be all mouth, perfectly happy to stay and suck his wage out till his contract is up, maybe he'll leave and take a huge pay drop, you can't tell what way it will go.

Of course I'm talking in general, West Ham were willing to offer Carroll 90k a week and 20mil to buy him.... they aren't sensible.

Yeh he turned it down.

If we can get him for the reported £5m i think he will be a good signing. We have lacked someone with real pace since Bellamy left.
He won't play every game but will be very useful in games like last season where 10 man defences suffocate Silva and Nasri.

All depends on Johnson though.

The no.31 he's wearing in MUTV footage is training top. Players have different training numbers to squad numbers. Scholes 53, for instance.

Im unsure on Padolski. If her performs, then you will have a great season, but I really dont know about him, Also Gould, can he deal with the physicality of the league, time will tell. Either way, its going to be a very tight top 6/7 this year.

Are you drunk or something, Padolski, her, Gould, tight top 6/7, lol. Top 2-3 will be a mile away from 4-5, and 7th won't be close to 4th.

That contradicts the pictures of training that always come out where this year they have been wearing their squad numbers.

But still like I say, I couldn't care if he was 9 or 74.

I'm gonna guess that 'if' Fergie was referring to a particular individual then that particular individual is probably Baines

Cant think if any central midfielder we'd be after that isn't available
