****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

My NSMB2 came this morning from Tesco, it's really nice, love the gold box we get.

Played it on both a normal 3DS and a 3DS XL, I wouldn't say pixelated mess at all. Much prefer it on the XL plus the normal 3DS gives me massive hand cramp after a short amount of time.

Got any pics of the gold box?

I think the image quality on the XL is fine and found Mario Kart 7 a joy to use on the XL. I was worried that it was going to be a lot worse as you have the same amount of detail on a larger screen but I am liking the bigger screen. It is also more comfortable to hold making keeping it in the sweet spot for 3D easier as my hands were getting cramp on the original. It does feel easier on the eye too with the 3D compared to the original 3DS for me.

Given the choice of both consoles, mine would be the XL.

Added my new friend code to the 3ds friend thread. I've added everyone on the list.

Got my NSMB2 this morning and it's fantastic as you'd expect!

Just broken the 5000 coin mark, still lots to go! :D

Mine did not arrive today :(. Got plenty of other games to play for now, so not too bothered, just a bit strange, normally my games turn up on release or a little before.

A huge pixellated mess. I was genuinely shocked at how bad it looked.

The 3D seemed to suffer too as it seemed to have a smaller "sweet spot" which I guess makes sense if it using the same technology (parallax barrier) on a larger screen.

wow really?, I've owned both and I think the XL blows the original out of the water, the only negative is the larger pixels but you honestly get used to it within a day, also I found the 3D to be a lot more immersive due to the larger screen/s, also the d-pad is in another league on the XL, better 3D slider that locks into 2D, and has more resistance, same goes for the volume slider, also better battery life, and the frame around the bottom screen doesn't touch the top screen when the system is closed which helps against scratches.

The XL pwns the original 3DS :p

30 minutes more.

No you get lot more than that from my experience, also here is a real world test here,

:D

So far so good, the game feels a little bit more difficult than the original, my only complaint is when in 3D the back grounds go a bit blurry, they are trying to add to the effect but I don’t like it.

Enjoy your nice new title screen when you finally hit 1,000,000 :).

Like those cases mate they look wicked.

well after not ever having played ocarina of time until now im so glad stuck with it after a few days.

initially i wasn't sure if it was for me but its just so good!

hey - i've not had a handheld for years (other than ipad).

my daughter will be turning 7 in October and wondering if the 3ds XL is a suitable gift.

Don't know much about game titles and history around the platform.

I do have an on GB advance in a cupboard but the titles i have are totally unsuitable for a little girl so i can't even try her out on them.

Thanks in advance
