RVP will probably put 6 past Arsenal now lol

I'll call it now in however many years he spends at the club RVP wont notch a goal against Arsenal.....

...... not that it matters because Rooney scores against them for fun :D

i watched a show on sky last night with naill quinn and he said RVP shouldn't of conducted himself the way he did.I don't understand what RVP had done wrong,he said he wasn't staying,he didn't make any promises to arsenal like if they got champs league footy he would stay, he didn't say rubbish on twitter like most players do now,he has been very professional ,they prob messed him around all summer trying to keep him when he didn't want to stay.He owes arsenal nothing and the fans nothing in my eyes, they should be lucky they got twenty odd million for him now rather then have unhappy player for a season then him joining united next summer.Next season they will end up losing Walcott the same way if they are not careful

Quinn's a ****, proved that last season with his totally unbiased commentary :o

tbh do I think RVP owed Arsenal more than just 18 great months for the x amount of years he spent as a sick note with them? Yes he probably did but like I said before it's Arsenal's fault they let him get to 12 months from walking away for free, Arsenal should have tied him to a new long term deal 18 months ago

It's all very well saying that, but there's every chance all that would have done is created a transfer drama 18 months ago with him potentially refusing to sign then - plus as Utd coughed up the 24 million it's not like they have lost money by waiting until the last year.

RvP is so beta he showed that against Newcastle against krul acting like a classless ***. In that match it marked an end to his prolific scoring for arsenal and showed how much of a helmet this guy actually was. Oh and I'd rather have a club with a secure future rather than one with shedloads of debt like Man Utd.

No offensive nicknames for clubs. Thank you.

Arsenal fans.....atleast you got 20million for him.
What happened when you took Campbell from spurs for nothing?

I know which I would take!

24m plus the 15m they will get for song. Not bad little bit of profit... plus, I honestly think their attack is now better with or without RVP. Podolski and Giroud are going to tear teams apart.

I dont think most of us Arsenal fans are that bothered. Don't get me wrong I would have loved if he signed a new four year deal and was with us for the rest ofhis career but he didnt want to stay and we got a fair chuck of change from him. Or if he did have to go, then out of the EPL but Utd were the only team willing to pay up

Would be nice if they reinvested that money straight away and although I dont hate Song as much as DM i would take the £15m for him too. Spend £3.25m on two players and get nearly £40m back. Soon be a debt free club :D

Giroud is entirely untested, he's had one decent season in Ligue 1 which isn't a strong league, one not great season before that and he was in ligue 2 before that.

Podolski + rvp is a stronger combination than Podolski + giroud.

Podolski would have cost even less last year(he wasn't particularly good with Koln till last season) and either way he cost less than Gervinho. So we could have actually bought good/better players last year, had a better season and maybe won things.

Our attack isn't stronger, there is a team with RVP and without, its weaker without, its not Giroud + podolski OR RVP, its all of them, or two of them.

Again the problem ISN'T strength, this team is no where near the 2005-2009teams... what did we win then? It's arguably stronger than last year, its weaker than two years ago, which was weaker than the team they year before that, rinse repeat.

It will take HUGE fundamental changes in training, mentality, tactics, substitutions and Wenger's policy to actually win anything. Even if we keep all our best players next year and get two top notch fullbacks I just can't see us winning.

For 8 years people including Arsenal fans have been mocking Arsenal, when we throw away a 4-0 up at half time, its not because of lack of quality, we had the same team in the first half, the same top players... it was mentality, poor substitutions. But that was typical Arsenal, not a one off.... all of a sudden because we sign three potentially top players..... everyone is acting like it was only the quality of the team stopping us winning, that may have been true last year, and last year alone, the other problems had nothing to do with squad strength.

It's hard not to get excited over a better quality of player, we've spent less than last season still, just better players. However, as much as I want better players, I know why we aren't winning anything at the moment.

Well having a stronger team than a team that got 3rd last season doesn't sound like a terrible place to be in..:p

Manchester United have rejected an enquiry from Chelsea for 24-year-old striker Javier Hernandez, according to ESPN.

Jog on Abramovich (though if it's for over £20m we should take it and buy a midfielder :p).

stronger squad possibly - but weaker man for man

Arsenal may well have two strikers who grow into the team in years / seasons to come, but I cant see them immediately stepping up to the plate over the full season ahead

For the time being Arsenal ARE weaker, and a lot weaker if Song leaves as well. Once the new players have experience then they may be a team to behold, but imo not until then.

(:

There were rumours he was heading to Arsenal the other day, but I just cant see SAF letting him go just yet.

Maybe Steve bould is our best signing then DM :D

Preseason at points it felt like Steve Bould's new defence was AVB's masterplan, just stand really high up the pitch, which is fantastic for mistake prone defenders, for real :p

I dunno, great defender doesn't equal great coach..... and ultimately great coach(if he turns out to be one) doesn't mean he doesn't have to do what the manager says, and can't account for the manager not having bought a decent fullback since Eboue/Lauren/Clichy

rvp is less strong than RVP, its in capitals, saying anything in capitals is stronger, du'h :p

was supposed to be Giroud, we bought two players, we had no financial need to sell one to cover those two, we could have bought Podolski anyway. Saying the current attack is stronger overall wouldn't be relevant unless we were say Everton, sold RVP first and HAD to have that money to buy the other two, in which case it would be worth doing. However, we could have bought both, comfortably, without selling RVP.

Hell if we'd never bought Gervinho or Chamakh, we'd have saved to this enough to buy both those players anyway.

Also, it sounds like Alex Song has left Arsenal (a few journalists saying so - £15-20m deal with Barcelona to be confirmed over the weekend). As a result they're pushing to get in Sahin.

And ESPN also say Man Utd are likely going to bid for Leighton Baines, I hope we do really, we need some left-back cover and Baines is decent.

Well the players have been giviing positive feedbacks about Boulds input throughout the whole team. About shape and defending together. He hasnt had the team long to put a mark on it but if i were a betting man I would say we are organised better as a team this year

£15-20m for Song? that really does cheapen the RVP sale now :p

Better have a few replacements lined up Wenger!
