Sleeping Dogs

Does it download the hd pack automatically for you?? ive bought the retail version and its installed but steam is currently updating the game. 10% to go :)
 
Played a few hours now and quite impressed, game looks really good and runs smoothly on my Q6600 & GTX570. Very detailed game world, great lighting and shadow effects. Totally packed to the rafters with things to do, aside from the main story missions, there are loads of varying side missions and collectables. Just scratched the surface so far, only gripe is occasionally the camera gets a bit wild.

The melee combat is good but you need to do lots of countering as in assassins creed, gets a bit busy at times when you're surrounded and you just find yourself constantly countering, had trouble in a couple of the busier fights but it's probably more me being a bit crap than any major shortcomings with the combat mechanic. It's not just button mashing though, you have to time your counters and combos well, some of the enviroment takedowns are cool, slamming heads into air conditioning units and chucking people of balconys are particularly good fun!:D

Works perfectly and it has the option to rebind keys as well. It was built for a controller.

cant wait to get on this, how does it run compared to a similar title like GTA? Is there still a bug with the graphical settings resetting once changed?

Would love to see a few ingame screenies :D
 
Well it was my first go, and it took me a while to realise that it defaults to the middle one;)

Heres hoping for Safety Dance as one of the Karaoke tracks...just for surrealism!

Finally played some tonight after having to redownload, had disk IO failure trying to launch it :@ But the game is great, runs nicely, im using kb+mouse and seems fine for me. But ye deffo worth the money.
 
gotta say the melee combat is hard with the keyboard = ( i was doign the fighting challenge beside the martial arts school 6-7 rounds of thugs and i can't press the counters fast enough, for the heavy thugs left click right click mashing them and F why your trying to dodge all the other fast thugs is stressful, I think im going to need a xbox controller soon when you unlock more melee moves it gets as crazy like teken type games with all the button combos
